I just found out that I only live 61.6 miles, (99.1356 kilometers), from them. I'm going to pick mine up tomorrow. I'll be the first! WOW!

Kendra ( ) posted Thu, 05 September 2002 at 7:37 PM

And will it be a very active forum or a very quiet forum? :)

"I just found out that I only live 61.6 miles, (99.1356 kilometers), from them. I'm going to pick mine up tomorrow. I'll be the first! WOW! "

I'm about 3 maybe 4 hours away... that's a tempting idea. :)

Anyone else notice that Tori has posted in this forum since this message was created and yet no confirmation? I hope it is shipping tomorrow. That would be ideal for me as I will be home on the day I should receive it; but until I see someone from CL confirm this, I have to consider this a rumor.

iajones ( ) posted Thu, 05 September 2002 at 7:55 PM

Here's the funny thing. By the time either of us gets there, they will of shipped it out already the night before. Which means it's at the post office right now! (starts to hum MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE theme)

iajones ( ) posted Thu, 05 September 2002 at 8:03 PM

Wait a minute. This better not be a rumor. Because I now know where they live. I'll get in my car, go all the way down there, knife and rifle, one in each hand. Knock on the door and ask if I could please have my copy of POSER 5. I hope they say yes, because I don't want to go all the way down there for nothing.

Butch ( ) posted Thu, 05 September 2002 at 8:12 PM

Just where are they? Heck, if they are on the same contient, I might make a trip. Hmmm, maybe I could get other from around here and we could have a Poser 5 road trip!

notefinger ( ) posted Thu, 05 September 2002 at 8:15 PM

I live just 40 miles away but I'd want to call first. This could be a rumor and maybe it's not being shipped from Santa Cruz, Ca but far away from a foreign country like Texas.

lordbyron ( ) posted Thu, 05 September 2002 at 8:31 PM

Although we are in God's country (though climatically a dead ringer for hell) I think we here will have to share the milk & honey with others on this score...And yes, we are a foreign country--or at least as big as 4-5 of them anyway.)

PabloS ( ) posted Thu, 05 September 2002 at 9:24 PM

I'm not from Texas, but I couldn't resist... A Texan died and ascended into Heaven. St. Peter met him and welcomed him saying "You will certainly enjoy Paradise." The Texan shook his head sadly and said "I always thought that TEXAS was Paradise." St. Peter said "Well, let me show you what we have to offer." He took the Texan to an area that had a beautiful river flowing through it with wildlife and flowers everywhere. "Isn't this beautiful?" said St. Peter. The Texan replied, "Yes, but not as pretty as the area around SAN ANTONIO." Somewhat ruffled, St. Peter took him to another area where there were rolling hills, whitetail deer and bluebonnets and Indian Paintbrush everywhere. "Now" said St. Peter "Have you ever seen anything so wonderful?" The Texan paused and said "Yes, it is beautiful but it does not hold a candle to the TEXAS HILL COUNTRY in the springtime." Becoming more upset, St. Peter then took the Texan to a beautiful white beach, with gentle waves, and an azure sky. "Now have you seen anything this beautiful in Texas" said St. Peter. The Texan smiled and said "I guess you've never been to SOUTH PADRE ISLAND". At this point, St. Peter took the Texan to a large rock. On the side of the rock was a huge iron door. St. Peter opened the door and they stepped into an elevator and started going down. As they descended, it grew more and more hot. When the elevator door opened, it revealed the fires of damnation-Hell. St. Peter said, "Now, have you got anything in Texas that can top that?" The Texan thought a moment and shook his head. "No, but I know a couple of old boys from HOUSTON that can put that thing out for you."

So its Christmas in September?

mheldt ( ) posted Thu, 05 September 2002 at 11:38 PM

40 miles is such a shame when it will be shipped to Ohio or Tennesee moved to another airplane then sent back to your state for delivery. I had mine overnighted. I suppose that it will be here monday.

I haven't seen any official word on this so I'll stay calm till then, like everyone else should do too ;) Rob

idova ( ) posted Fri, 06 September 2002 at 3:07 AM

i hate to dampen everyone here but i too had spoken to CL twice, once last week and once last night (thursday for me) and on bith occasions they said they belive it will be shipping today(9/6) but they were not sure, so it may not be a 'WILL' ship friday but a 'HOPE' to ship friday (even though my pre order from last night said expected deliveray date tuesday 9/10 and i am here in england :) )

c1rcle ( ) posted Fri, 06 September 2002 at 3:09 AM

idova my pre-order still says expected delivery 26/9, so I'll believe it when I see it in my hands & that includes poser5 too ;) Rob

Roy G ( ) posted Fri, 06 September 2002 at 3:42 AM

So does next day air get delivered on Saturday? Is there a chance I might have it this weekend? That would sure be cool!

pokeydots ( ) posted Fri, 06 September 2002 at 3:46 AM

LadyDi ( ) posted Fri, 06 September 2002 at 5:24 AM

ROTFLOL at the TEXAN joke - having lived in Houston for quite a while (I am English), and travelled around Texas, I was cracking up at that joke! Oh yeah, my expected delivery for Poser 5 is 9/10 (sept. 10th) and I am also here in the UK!

wdupre ( ) posted Fri, 06 September 2002 at 7:42 AM

i don't even care to see it for another 2 weeks, It'll be too tempting to install it in my old beast. my new computer comes on the 19th, 2.53mh, a gig of DDR, DVD+rw the works. gonna make that strand based hair, and dynamic clothing flow with that baby.

SAMS3D ( ) posted Fri, 06 September 2002 at 8:04 AM

I am to far away but I am old and have patience, although I am really excited to see what others do before I get mine......so happy I could just Sh**, sorry I have a grin on my face that is scaring Mike.....:-)

pdxjims ( ) posted Fri, 06 September 2002 at 8:59 AM

hmmm... if it really does ship now, then I'll have it by my birthday on the 15th. The PERFECT present! I'll have a reason to skip the party and stay home at the computer! Heaven help the 'sity the day we get it though. The servers here are going to die when all the new pictures showing how we did this and that start getting posted. I'd love to see the bandwidth statistics for the site a couple of days before to a couple of days after shipment. Not to mention everyone who posts Poser 5 specific freebies and products.

c1rcle ( ) posted Fri, 06 September 2002 at 9:01 AM

I've just had an email from CL & there was no mention of poser5 being released today, I didn't ask so that doesn't really prove it either way :) Rob
