Subject: Can't get unlocked

wayneout ( ) posted Mon, 09 September 2002 at 5:56 PM · edited Fri, 02 August 2024 at 1:34 AM

Hello, Just I am the only one who can't get unlocked. Never did a response code and all that before. I entered my serial number like shown, I went to the website. Entered my old Poser4 serial number and then was told the response was wrong. I tried to redo the process but now I can't get to the Curious Lab website because it stops after I hit register and says the response code is wrong. Any ideas what I did wrong. I am assuming that the 0 with a line thru it on my serial number is the number zero and not an O. Any ideas? I tried to call Curious Labs but got a recording. Bill

You got a response code? I never got that far...it wouldn't accept my old serial number. If you decide to try to email them, don't listen to what the dialog box says...it ain't right. You have to send ALL your info again with the email (First Name, Last Name, etc.) Everything you filled out on screen has to be in the email. I listened to the dialog box and got chastised for not sending that stuff :(

are all your letters capitalized? that was the mistake someone made, not capitalizing

I used all capital letters. I had the caps lock on. I don't know if I really got a response code or if it was a challenge code. Never done this thing. On the page where you enter the old registration number, it had some type of code at the bottom. Maybe that was the challenge code. After I entered the old serial number and hit the register key. I got a screen that said "Thanks for registering.' that lasted about one second and then I was told everything was wrong. Don't understand because this should be straight forward. Bill

Try deleting your cache. Failing that hold down the "alt" key and then hit the refresh button it should then reload the page regardless of whether it's cached or not. later jb

Hello, I have been trying to post this message ever since I posted my last message but it was impossible to get on line. CL sent me an email which had the correct codes about ten minutes after I sent them my info. Thanks CL. So now I will post my other questions until I lose connection again. (I keep getting timeout error) Bill

So is the serial number you're suppose to enter after install the one that came with Poser 5 or Poser 4? I entered the one for Poser 5 and it accepted it, as far as I know. It created some challenge code which was a bunch of words. I don't have an internet connection on that computer so I sent my info by email. I didn't include the Poser 4 serial. Was I suppose to? I have a Poser 4 serial and a propack serial. When I filled out the screen, it didn't ask me for the Poser 4 serial unless I was suppose to type that instead of the Poser 5 number. Kevin

As someone else mentioned in another thread in this vane, remember to use the code that's on the sticker that accompanied Poser 4 (the one that says "Important: Don't Lose This") and not the one displayed on the Poser 4 screen. That's very important!! Kuroyume

My workstation computer also has no modem. It was not ever to be used for that. It also is no where near a phone jack so it would be good to know how this works out for such a case as in MeInOhios' situation.

MeInOhio: If you bought the upgrade they're going to want your P4 serial number in the email. In fact, they're going to want ALL the information you entered when you installed the program. At least that's what they told me. You did everthing else right...you were supposed to type the P5 serial number upon install. You only need the P4 number when you're registering.

neurocyber, there is a thread here somewhere (I'll look) from Nosfiratu (of CL) that describes the alternatives if there is no possible means of registering online. (please hold - Jeopardy theme plays) http://www.renderosity.com/messages.ez?Form.ShowMessage=847655 It's a long thread, but there is some relevant info there. Or, you could go to Curious Labs online with the system that is and look for info about non-online registration or send an e-mail to them. Kuroyume

Yes, but you need the code so you can use Poser 5 past 7 days alloted. I got bumped out this morning when I tried to register, it said all my info was wrong and create a error...so I emailed them, in hopes they will send me my code. Sharen
