Subject: Poser 5 questions

Before I pay the $400 to get Poser 5 I would just like to ask some questions. 1) can you put hair on other parts of the body besides the head (i.e. chest, forearms, legs, genitals, etc)? 2) Can you use Poser 4 models in Poser 5. I heard somwhere that you could. 3) I heard it said here that you can export hair made in Poser 5 unless you do some tricks (Darlisa hair tut being one). 4) Can you make the dynamic cloth a conforming figure. I guess that is it for now. If someone(s) could find these things out for me I would be eternally grateful. Tankred

  1. Yes, any part of any figure/prop 2) YES!!! YES!!! YES!! (sorry, I've heard this one lots of times) 3) Save the underlying prop to the Library. Poser 5 includes skullcaps for headhair, and you can spawn props for other hair in other areas, then save the props with the hair. 4) You can make any object into a figure using the Setup room. Poser 4 clothing objects are technically figures, with body parts, etc. Anthony Hernandez Curious Labs

Ah Anthony.....the voice of reason arrives at last. You've been sorely missed over the last 24 - 48 hours. I'll be re-reading all the recent posts, hoping that you're going through them giving informed answers, as opposed to wild guesses. I see too many of these 'I-just-opened-the-box-and-this-doesn't-work' posts. You've got your work cut out for you. LOL mac

Hi Anthony...yes, I'll agree with maclean that you've got some work ahead of you. ;) If you have a moment though, could you answer a few probably-easy questions for me? - I've heard (and even seen) some examples of Victoria and Mike textures on the default P5 figures. Are the templates EXACTLY the same as the Millenium figures...or do I have to start making new seam guides as soon as my copy arrives? ;) - Do Mike/Vicky poses work exactly as they should with the P5 figures? - Would it be possible to see a list or partial list of the body morphs that the default figures come with? Thanks very much! Take care and good luck. ;) SnowS

Snow: 1) Uncertain. I was not part of the content creation process. You might want to email tech@curiouslabs.com. 2) If you Mike, VIcky, and poses for them, they will work exactly the same in P5 and P4. 3) See a subsequent post tonight or tomorrow. :-) Anthony H.

OK, I need to bow out of listing all the morphs that come with the P5 figures. I started listing them, got halfway through the head morphs, and realized it would take me far too long to complete. So I think I'll leave this topic with a simple reply of "a boatload". Seriously. Many dozens if not hundreds. :-) A.H. C.L.

Thank you Anthony, your answers were good enough. :) I was really just curious about the actual body morphs, but if you say there's a lot, I'll take your word for it. ;) Thanks for your time, take care. SnowS

Thanks Anthony! Just the hair alone is going to tip the scales. It will take some time to get the money together. I am thinking Yule present for me?
