Subject: Maybe advanced, but some P5 hair questions

Those with P5 may not be this far along yet in setting up hair, but its been noted that the hair sometimes seems not a part of the model, or head...there is a slight gap...is this because of the cap that needs to be applied? Also...most of the images with hair so far seem very thin. I've seen mention of 5000 strands...has anyone experimented to find the ideal strand count ??? Obviously it depends on what you're trying to portray...but for a good, healthy, full head of hair. What is the method to make the hair lie down...conform, and also to flow in differing directions. Does that all have to be done dyna, ically somehow, or is it possible to turn some dials to make if flow as need ??

the problem with the hair IMHO is learning to deal with the textures and proper layering neither of which I have mastered yet. there are basic controls to make hair lie down, back, to the side, and also styling controls for root, and tip thickness curl and other paramiters then you can directly manipulate control hairs both singly and by selecting areas and you can use the direct editing tools to move and twist these hairs. here's a hair style Ive spent the last half hour working on it's not very good yet but with time...

Just a suggestion (although it looks a little like you may already be doing this)... there's nothing keeping you from creating a transmap for the skull-cap and useing that to 'cover the scalp' with hair underneath.
