I know, I saw them last week, they are amazing...Sharen....but then again they are Catharina's...she is one of the bests.

casamerica ( ) posted Tue, 10 September 2002 at 3:35 PM

From what I have seen of Catharina's work and from what I have experienced in the last 24 hours from Poser 5, I am willing to bet that most of that beautiful quality is due to the talent of Catharina and not anything NEW in P5. JMO. casamerica

yep, catharina doesn't count. i guess she could made those on poser 3 ;)

Wow, these are great!

she uses photos from real models for her textures so they are always terrific!! Sharen, if you saw them last week, how could they be Poser 5...she wasn't a Beta tester was she?

#7, yep!

Simply unbelievable!!!!!!!!!!!!!

VirtualSite ( ) posted Tue, 10 September 2002 at 6:07 PM

You know, I don't know how ANYONE could say Poser was a "toy" after seeing these. The top one is just flat out incredible.

Tisa ( ) posted Tue, 10 September 2002 at 6:29 PM

All these pictures proove is that CatharinaPrzezak is very good at producing textures either for P4 (see link) or P5. And yes virtual site sorry to dissapoint you, but to most people here, Poser is a toy and is becoming more so.

sorry Tisa You don't dissapoint us, most of us who have used poser for a while know it's anything but a toy and have lost the need to defend it. so go on thinking that.:)

karanta ( ) posted Tue, 10 September 2002 at 11:54 PM

They are GREAT. But I think she could do the same with Poser4 ;-)

the only thing I'll say in answer to the toy comment is "Jet Li in The One", read up on it & weep.

c1rcle ( ) posted Wed, 11 September 2002 at 2:15 AM

ps those textures by catharina are the best I've seen bar none, sorry to everyone else who makes textures but she blows you all out the water.

-Waldo- ( ) posted Wed, 11 September 2002 at 3:46 AM

Yea but Catharina cheated. She rendered it before poser 5 got released. I bet she learned all Poser 5 techiques and screts from her co-workers in CL. Waldo

she works for CL? talk about jammy :)

DragonWalk ( ) posted Wed, 11 September 2002 at 5:07 AM

As I have said before...and I respect Catherina very much for all her great talents....for I know she does everything from paint to 3D with exceptional quality...however...a good most of these are "photography"...just how much is the question...which is way cool too...however...they are essentially real folks wrapped around Daz meshes... ....me...I happen to be moreso "impressed" with "handwork"...I think taking pictures is another talent and that also takes great skill...but I don't yet quite understand...or comprehend....the difference....why poser art has to compete with photography elements rather than the enormous potential it has for it's own merits of artistic value...as a tool...rather than just a photo texture wrapper...or camera helper... Again...a wonderful entorage...but what is the dif between a photo....and a photo around a mesh...made into a photo..once again...maybe a little painting to change hair...skin...eyes...things one can also do in photoshop...even 3D can be accomplished with a phot alone..don't need all these steps with poser...is this not just more work?? I am missing the point somehow....I know...I keep thinking photography and art are two seperate entities...it's the way I was taught back in the seventies when I went to college...blah...old traditions...I need to rethink this...I am obviously not with the programming here....and even school today is NOT changing this value...nope....not as yet...we are told photography is one thing...3D digital is another...later this can work together...for now...any textures must be done from scratch transparencies onward...sigh...and I was so hoping to use the naked bodies from all the women I see...hahahaha....(I wish...dreamin' is nice...my squirrel does better than lil ol me...LOL...must be all those warm happy nuts he shares)!! Cheers!

Hey! I found this topic right now..and yes I was beta tester but my work was only to test a section in Poser5 and this was many weeks before but, I am so "green" as you are, I test maybe one time the hair or another things.. this is just to much to learn all again in so short time. I use poser for many years and almost 4 years I play with faces and textures and almost only with this section for my hobby and my work. So my concentration is totally on faces and only faces. I can't tell you much about things cose of my agreement with C.L and this make me sometimes very confused cose I really can't tell you my whole opinion about. Here are not really tricks that you can learn from the maker of Poser5, maybe technical but not with rendering and the mood and you have only to use you knowledge and talent and try try try as I do. Do you think that I put a model, click on render and finish the image? no..sometimes I render 40-50 times one face and my computer get total off of ram and crash or freeze and drive me nuts so I wish to shut down my computer via the office window, and not always I get the effect I want, sometimes I think it is obsession to toke a photo then put this on a 3D model and try to render and get the effect as a photo..and what is the point? this sounds maybe a big nonsense but...when you get one great texture from a model you can do nice things alone without the true model so this make well a little sense at all in this whole project. But with the time when we get the perfection and our all renders will looks as just normal photo the magic will go away and nothing will more so as before...so I hope we don't get this working so well cose I think it will well scary. But believe me we are almost on the end of the new beginning, I think you will change you mind about Poser5 when you learn this better, there wait for me also the same cose I have to learn everything again too because nothing is the same again and sometimes I just miss my old simple Poser4 that surprise me with own magic every time when I try again and this give me just the satisfaction to do something from nothing.

Catharina Przezak ( ) posted Sat, 14 September 2002 at 3:46 AM

Ah and thank you again for your so nice comments this is also a big satisfaction for me and give me always the power to never give up and try again and again. I love your renders very much and watch them always , sometimes with jealous eyes on the beautiful scenes because as you know I do most only faces :))

DragonWalk ( ) posted Sat, 14 September 2002 at 6:13 AM

Just so there is no mistake...Catharina...you do awsome...wonderful work...it takes great ability...patience...effort...and time to create what you do...you dazzle the whole community again and again with your own particular magic...
