Subject: What kind of map does Airborne use?????!!!!?????

kelchris3 ( ) posted Wed, 11 September 2002 at 8:37 AM · edited Sun, 24 November 2024 at 3:57 AM

I live in Texas. I just checked my tracking and mine left Wilmington Ohio last night. Anybody looked at a US map? What kind of route is that? No wonder shipping costs so much! They could at least bring me souveniers of the states it visits if they are gonna drag it all over the country!!

kelchris3 ( ) posted Wed, 11 September 2002 at 9:47 AM

It's in Texas!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Woo Hoo!!!!!!!! Out for delivery!!!!! anybody have one of those mats for sleepwalkers that sets off an alarm in case they try to sneak off????? Bring it to me. Can't leave til it gets here! Afraid to go to the bathroom!!!!!!

Jcleaver ( ) posted Wed, 11 September 2002 at 9:52 AM

I have found "Out for delivery" means nothing. Mine was out for delivery yesterday like it should have been, but it still hasn't arrived. I called Airborne and they were going to check to see what happened and get back to me, but so far they haven't called me back. Hmmmm......

kelchris3 ( ) posted Wed, 11 September 2002 at 10:07 AM

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!! I pray you hear something soon! This is wearing my nerves out! Let me know if you get a response from them. I'll be crossing my fingers for you.

Jcleaver ( ) posted Wed, 11 September 2002 at 10:12 AM

Thanks. Sorry, didn't mean to be so down. I'm sure that you will get yours today. The Airborne facility here seems to be rather lackadaisical. It shows up again today as out for delivery. I hope they mean it this time!!!

Marque ( ) posted Wed, 11 September 2002 at 10:15 AM

Don't think I would ever use Airborne for anything after this experience. But at least you have a tracking number, I don't even know if mine has been shipped yet. Marque

Jcleaver ( ) posted Wed, 11 September 2002 at 10:27 AM

Well, they finally called me back. They said it was out for delivery, but it wasn't the normal driver. Frankly, I don't care what driver it is as long as they deliver it! They seemed to suggest that it wasn't delivered yesterday because I didn't leave a note saying they could just leave it. I really didn't think I would have to do that since I was home all day! I will never intentionally use Airborne again.

UPS isn't much better, my husband's package ended up somewhere else and I was told by three people, one of them a manager, that for shipments to personal addresses they are not guaranteed to even be delivered....only for business do they guarantee delivery. I think we need to start boycotting. Marque

kelchris3 ( ) posted Wed, 11 September 2002 at 10:33 AM

They ever heard of a doorbell???? I'm a homeschool mom who is always here!!! Maybe I should wait outside on the curb. LOL If you preordered Marque you should call CL they said in the email anyone who hadn't received a tracking number by end of business Wednesday should.

If it makes anyone feel better, mine was picked up by Airborne in California on Friday evening and was delivered to Dallas, TX and my address by 10:30 Monday morning. Of course, mine didn't take any detours to other states...

bo666, I also live about 50 miles from Burlingame, Ca, and I got mine yesterday. The way they do it doesn't make any sense, as it said, the package was picked up from the shipper in Burlingame, sent to Fresno?, then to Sacramento, and then Back to me, here in Fairfield? Burlingame is just outside of SanFrancisco, and Fairfield is approx. half way between SF and Sac, so they had to backtrack to get it to me? Also,Kelchris3, I was home yesterday morning (work nights) and they did not even knock on the door when they delivered it. I was checking the tracking when I saw that it was Delivered, and my heart stopped, as I really thought they had sent it to someone else! I checked the code they use, LD FD, and found out that it meant, left at front door, and sure enough, I opened the door, and there it was. (: Marque, I just paid the nominal cost for shipping and didn't request my package be delievered by Airborne or anyone else for the matter. Since I live relatively close to Santa Cruz, (that's where I thought it would be shipped from) I didn't see the need to pay extra as I recalled that when I purchased Poser4 from them, It arrived within the week, using UPS. I think Airborne was what CL chose to use this time, maybe because there are so many orders to ship and they got a better deal with them? Anyway, I have my fingers crossed that you all will get yours soon. genny

Hummm, I live right outside of Sacramento, maybe they will ship mine from France?? lol Marque

I live in Millbrae. If I walk across the street, I'm in Burlingame! No joke. I live right on the border of the two cities. And I haven't received my package! I know where Airborne express is, Shit! I could walk there in 20 minutes. 4 minutes by car, that includes all stop lights and stop signs.

phoenixamon ( ) posted Wed, 11 September 2002 at 2:44 PM

I got a big shock. I ordered second-day delivery, was informed that it shipped out last Friday, no tracking info EVER came up in Airborne's tracking system, and I received the package Monday when the people who order next-day delivery got theirs. It should have come Tuesday. Furthermore, I'm in New York City, all the way on the left coast. Makes no sense. I'm glad I didn't pay for next-day. Like I've said before, pay no attention to Airborne's tracking system. It has never worked, and in my experience does more harm than good. :) Phoenix

Jcleaver ( ) posted Wed, 11 September 2002 at 2:49 PM

I remember your posts about it. I'm glad you got yours early. I am still waiting. Airborne assured me they would deliver it as soon as possible. Maybe it isn't possible for them to deliver. I don't believe their tracking system, nor do I believe them anymore.

wdupre ( ) posted Wed, 11 September 2002 at 3:47 PM

it seems the further you live the more efficient Airborn is. mine shipped friday supposedly ground and arrived tuesday morning I guess speedy gonzalez had my package. incedently dropped at front door. they did knock, but where gone before I got there.

dmartin ( ) posted Wed, 11 September 2002 at 5:08 PM

I live in central texas and according to the Airborne site, It arrived in Lubbock on the ninth,And for the last two days it said it is out for delivery.I called last nite and they said I will get it Friday. It doesn't take 6 days for it to get From Lubbock to Brownwood.I don't like Airborne,I rather Use UPS at least they leave it or If I need to sign for it, The Ups office Is pretty close. The closest Airborne hub is In Abilene. So If I have to sign for it and it is not left,It Will Be A big Hassle.I had to go through it before.

kelchris3 ( ) posted Wed, 11 September 2002 at 6:09 PM

Mine showed up at about 2:30. Got it installed and registered no problem. Now I have to figure out what the H--- to do with it. LOL Gonna be reading that manual for months! Got my poser 4 stuff in it too. Found a tut on how to do it here in the forum and it works!!! Thank you! Super easy. To all of you still waiting Bless you!!!!!!! My fingers are crossed for you!

Jcleaver ( ) posted Wed, 11 September 2002 at 6:31 PM

Well, I finally got mine also. The driver didn't seem too pleased that I had called to check status; but it did arrive in perfect shape! LOL!

whbos ( ) posted Wed, 11 September 2002 at 8:06 PM

I got the tracking email from CL that said mine was shipped Monday evening. Second-day air and Wednesday, I still don't have it. They didn't answer my email either, but I wasn't surprised. They are probably getting thousands of emails a day. Airborne's website isn't worth a crap. I called them yesterday and they said they don't update the website using the scanning/tracking system everyone else is using. If it comes tomorrow, I should be reimbursed for paying second-day air and getting third-day air.

They left mine in the middle of the driveway. I'm lucky my wife didn't run over it .

Map? They use a map? I paid for next-day express delivery. It left Friday and, since it was a weekend, I would not receive it until Monday before noon. I work 3rds. I stayed awake to make sure the package wasn't left on the porch. At 12:10 pm I was on the phone with Airborne -- no package. They claimed it didn't get put on the truck to Indiana and were very sorry. Etc. I called later that night to make sure it got on the next truck. (I'm not real patient.) They told me, this time, that it had gotten accidentally misrouted to Michigan! But I would certainly have it Tuesday by noon. (Website: still in Wilmington.) Now, how did it get misrouted to Michigan, after being in Ohio that morning, and manage to still be in Indiana by noon on Tuesday? Answer: it's not really possible. Ergo, someone lied. Tuesday morning, I'm up waiting again. Now, you would think that, after being a day late, they'd bump my delivery up to "Get this on his doorstep at 8:00 am" status? Hah! 10:30 am -- the Airborne truck arrives. The friver tries to sneak up and stick the package in the door without knocking or ringing the doorbell. I catch him and he all but runs away! *-) Accoring to the website, the package is still in Wilmington. In fact, it was in Wilmington until sometime Wednesday morning when it was changed to delivered. I've got it, but I will NEVER use Airborne Express again. Even if it means using the USPS -- even they are better. Shawn

I dont know when I can get my package. Bet, I know that I will never use Airborne Express again.
