Well I WAS happy about getting P5 today, but then I tried to install it! Evertime I try to install it I get an error that it cannot write to the destination file '...'. Its a different file for every different type of installation I do. Whenever I get this error the installation has to be aborted. I don't guess anyone has any idea what the problem is, do you?

Have you tried Scandisk, Norton Disk Doctor, and/or defragging your hard drive?

Hit the ignore button when that happens after a couple of hitting the retry. Make a list of the ones that dont install. Let everything install that will. I think you will be okay. It is probably a bad cd disk. When many are duplicated at a time this can happen. It has happened to me before but not with Poser. Looks like you are past the program install which is good and you are just losing some content. Ron

Thanks, but Tech support figured it out for me! I just needed to free up more memory, close a bunch of background programs, and move the setup.exe to my hard drive. It worked after I did that. By the way, I was surprized by how fast tech support answered, it was like less than a minute before I got the e-mail!

I've had this problem with other programs and sometimes you need to do a cold boot (shut the system down for about five minutes and restart). This gets rid of all the crap in memory. This is why I don't leave a computer on all the time like some experts suggest.

remember that xp doesn't free up all the memory that you might need unless you reboot. i have found that out doing some pictures. one of the problems with it not crashing but i can live with it. :)

Try the XP version of RAMIdle, I have it start at boot time, tells you how much memory you've got in the system tray and lets you right click to recover memory in chunks... later jb
