Hi, I plan to upgrade my puter with dual proc. Is poser use it or a waste of money ? Thanks Laurent "Pigeon english belong to me..."

poser won't use it, not many programs around that do, need to have win2k pro or XP pro for windows to use it too

Poser does not support multi threading, so dual processors will not make any difference when running Poser.

But this forum does support cross posting! ;-)

Poser 5 doesn't support it but that doesn't make it a waste of money (unless Poser is all you use). I find it greatly enhances my computing experience in many other ways.

how so jackson? I was told it wouldn't make any difference unless you have a program specifcally written to support it

A dual processor computer will greatly enhance your total computing experience. True, for individual program to to see increased benefit, they must be multi-threaded. I am disheartened to hear that p5 is not... I have been watching this forum carefully the last few days trying to make up my mind on whether or not to shell out the dough... I still haven't decided. Why are the results so mixed? Back to the original point, a dual processor machine handles multi-tasking and the OS much better than a single proc. I know that I would never go back. Dual Athlon MP 1400+ 512MB 2100DDR RAM Geforce 4 (the expensive one, can't remember which) Hercules Game Theater XP beats the crap out of my old Athlon Thunderbird 1GHz 512 MB PC133 RAM evilded777
