Welcome to the Poser Technical Forum.
Where computer nerds can Pull out their slide rules and not get laughed at. Pocket protectors are not required. ;-)
This is the place you come to ask questions and share new ideas about using the internal file structure of Poser to push the program past it's normal limits.
New users are encouraged to read the FAQ sections here and on the Poser forum before asking questions.
So with 0 Poser ignores the limits even if limits are switched on in the menu? That's interesting. Thanks Jaager.

Hmmm...Well I've just been doing some experimenting and what I'm finding is that with forceLimits set to zero, the limits are enforced if the menu item is checked but not if it isn't. With any other positive value, including 1, it seems that the limits are enforced no matter what. I wonder where I got the idea that 4 was the value to use to force the limits? A simple 0/1 switch like hidden, castsShadow, bend etc seems to make much more sense. I'm about to finalise a software tool that lets you select the forceLimits value (among other things obviously). I'm tempted to only allow 0 or 1 as valid values and not bother with 4. Comments? Jaager? Anybody?

Ajax, Any value other than 0 enables the limits of this channel, and overrides the 'Use Limits' menu setting. You can put any numeric value into the forceLimits. But Poser always stores either value 4 (enabled) or 0 (disabled). See also http://www.renderosity.com/messages.ez?ForumID=10139&Form.ShowMessage=830657Ah ha! I should have thought of saving it back to the library to see what Poser did with it. Thanks VK, that's a complete solution to my problem.

No worries, Jaager. Thanks for your input. Directly or indirectly, I've learned a lot from your posts over the last year.

Does anybody know if there are any valid settings for forceLimits other than 0 and 4? If there are, what do they do?
