Remember spotting prints? Remember trying to thin the ink to match the print? Well thank god for the digital darkroom. Just scanned in this old neg. after finding a print of it. Its about 6 years old and the worst for wear. Set a new layer and the clone tool, use all layers and after 20 mins fixed a destroyed neg. Think this might be the last convincing I need, to sell off my dip and dunk dark room. Unless you want to convince me otherwise. :O)

How did come out when printed. When I scan my negs I can't print them at A4 size, and it scans at 1800dpi.

Azy I scan at 2700 dpi full neg and then change to 300 dpi I do not resample and this gives me an OK A4 print . at 1800 dpi I would try 200 dpi for printing at A4 :O)

Cool shot! Nice texture and toning. I can't decide if it was the dust, or the wrinkles while drying fibre prints, that drove me out of the wet darkroom. [Or maybe my eyesight, but that's another story...] I'm not quite convinced yet about digital cameras. [Though the last roll through my canon was half blank for no explained reason... :-( ). But it sure is nice having the negs processed by a clean lab, and then scanned into photoshop. And the dot matrix printers keep getting better.

Yeah! Misha I have not move completely over to dig yet, I have a dig camera but at 2M pixels its not up to the quality of scanned slides, although I do suffer with contrast some times. I like the dig darkroom for its convenience, you just save your work and pick it up later, I can live without late nights/early mornings trying to get that OK print to find its not that great in the cold light of day :O(

Looks wonderful... but I couldnt do without a wet darkfoom! Its half the fun =) Havent tried digital yet though, maybe I should :) xXxXx

Glad you like the B&W version Cat, I do too but it needs some work, I will spend some time with it in my digital darkroom and post the results. Youre right about the wet darkroom of course, the thrill of the image coming up in the tray and satisfaction of controlling the whole photographic process. I think we should all do are apprenticeship in the wet DR. But dont wait to move on, the digital tool box is much bigger and the rewards are just as good. :O)
