Something that you may or may not be aware of regarding Poser5 directories:- If you do an uninstall, beware! Poser5 folders are deleted! I recently sent this message to the Tech guys at CL:- Quote: Whilst awaiting my copy of P5 I am reading the P5 manual. It says that the uninstaller will delete the entire runtime directory. That would mean that any props or characters poses etc etc that I had made in P5 would be lost if I had to uninstall for some reason. Is there anyway to prevent the uninstaller removing non-stock files? That is, to work like the P4 uninstaller does, and leave my own work alone when I have to uninstall and then reinstall. End quote. This was the reply:- Quote: Hello there, actually the shipping version will not do that exactly. If you put new content in the default Poser 5 folders, it will get removed. If you install content in their own uniquely named folders they will stay. Downloads will keep new stuff as well. End quote. I see now that it's not entirely clear if new folders put into default Poser5 folders will also be removed or not. I suppose I should ask them. Anyway, I thought you might like to know, if you didn't already.

I think what they mean is that anything in the P5 library will be deleated but not anything in any new library, say the linked P4 library, or a new library created outside the main p5 library. any folders put in the default P5 folder will be deleated. best to put new stuff into the download folder just in case you need to uninstall

wdupre is correct. If you've installed anything into the P5 Runtime and need to uninstall or move Poser 5, then you'll need to make a copy of the Runtime before doing so. Items in the Downloads Runtime or a linked Runtime will not be deleted during an uninstall. -darlisa
