Subject: Fried Hair

OK, I've been fooling with the hair room for 2 days and I'm getting nowhere. When ever I try to use "do collisions" I get fried hair. This animation is from frames 880-900 nothing ever moved, no wind. Hair parameters are basically stock. I've tried turning up the damoing, that just makes it fry in slow motion. More or less gravity amkes it fry differently. Root stiffness, and position just change where it fries. Anybody have any better success? Blargh, same deal here. I've been wanting to do long hair, but it always goes through the shoulders. And I get the same fried results with collision detection. Considering that the hair room was the only reason I got poser 5, it's becoming really inconvient really fast. I'd like to see a fix for this, but considering how CL is tied down with multiple other bugs, I don't think it'd be in the near future.

Havent had that problem but will try longer hair. So far have just done short stuff. Generating an animation right now. Let you know what happens. Ron

Hey Nerd, this ought to make you feel better, a conversation about Shag hair which costs more than the suggested retail price of Poser 5: Registered User Posts: 1 (1/30/02 3:05:34 am) Reply Shag: Fur and Hair -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hy guys does someone know what are system requierd for Shag plugin? I have AMD Duron 1.2 GHz but my friend told me that is not much for it. Please help! I could be wrong. Check with www.digimation.com They should have the requirements listed. Two things come to mind. When styling or playing with the other dials make sure no guides go through the mesh. If they do the dynamics will not calculated properly. Also when using longer hair amp up the "Verts per hair". Ron

Ronmolina, I tried these things. guide hairs touched nothing, not even each other, when the animation started. These hairs have 40 verts per hair. Mitch, yeah and they say A P2 w/256 can render "normal head hair" in 60 seconds too.
