Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 21 6:06 am)
I meant to say that my zip program wouldn't compress the files. I found this out after I already made everything. I used PSP to compress them. But to be honest. I wanted them to be fairly uncompressed so they were very clear. I thought they would zip down into a nice small file. But that didn't happen. I've never tried anything like this before. And wasn't aware that zip programs don't compress these types of files very well. ScottA
Thanks everyone. But can you tell me the truth now ;-) Were you actually able you to create a new figure and set up the JP's for it? Are you now able to export other things from Poser. Then import them and do the same thing? It doesn't do anyone any good if this tutorial doesn't allow you to do just that. And since the web is clogged with Poser tutorials. I have no problem throwing it away. ScottA P.s.- Small bit of info was left out. After exporting all the tail sections. You need to delete the horse figure before going any further. I'll add that in there.
Hey Scott, thanks a bunch. I downloaded the tutorial last night and within half an hour I had my posable horse tail prop. My version of P4 is streight from the factory with no patches installed. Sure wish you had written the Poser manual, sure would have saved a lot of hair pulling, really don't have that much to spare. Ralph

I posted a complete tutorial on how to create a new figure from the Poser horse's tail. It's just about the simplest thing I've ever seen. Yet it contains everything a person needs to know about creating a new figure and adjusting the Joint Parameters without getting all technical. Or using .phi files and what not. I hope you all find it different than what's already available. It's contains over forty pictures at 800x600 so it's very easy to read and follow. Hopefully. I wish It would compress more. But since it's made with .jpeg files. It won't compress much at all so the file is just over 4meg. That really upsets me. That's just way too big. But I think the people who can't make heads or tails out of the JP's or making a new figure will find it worth the download time. It may very well be the only thing that breaks the ice for you. That is. If I did it properly. http://members.xoom.com/waycoolstuff/Posertutorial.zip ScottA
