I and many others, are having screen problems with P5. Someone mentioned that it may be a video card driver issue, incompatibility, whatever....and that it appeared more prevelant with Nvidia products. If you are having problems, white document screens, multiple rooms opened, windows not closing, etc etc...please list your video card manufacturer and the version of drivers that you are using. I'll start. Visiontek GF3 tTi500 64meg Nvidia 40.41 released 8/29/2002

I don't think this is an NVIDIA issue. I'm using NVIDIA GeForce2 MX 400 with windows XP pro, and the only problem I'm having is a slightly slower refresh. Downloading the latest drivers now. Not having ANY of the other probs, even with other apps open. 1 gig memory, Athlon dual 1.2, ATX tower

Dave running the same video card you are except the manuafacture is PNY. AMD dual 1.2 512mem in a tower. Win2000pro SP3. 400watt power supply. Not experiencing those problems. I have had my system hang on a couple of animations. Most likely the render settings so I am playing with those. Ron

I have the NVidia GeForce2MX400 card. Dell computer, Intel 1.9, 512 mem, XP. I also have a 179 dollar piece of software reclining in my computer that is pretty much useless to me. :( I am rather new to Poser (only bought Poser 4 in June), and love it so much that I was really excited about getting the upgrade. I should have saved my money. Either the software is buggy as heck, or my computer just plain hates it. I have gone back to Poser 4. Was tired of fighting with 5. ::sigh::

Well, I don't have the fancy stuff mentioned above. I have a Dell, P3, 1gig, 512 ram. My card is a Nvidia tnt2 M64 which is probably low on the pecking order. It has not been updated. There is a update for it, but since Poser5 has not been hanging up on me, I don't know if I should update. Oh, and I am using ME. Bill

Okay, I'll play... Win98SE, P3-450, 384MB RAM, ATI Rage Fury 32MB video card Drivers dated 10-3-2001. I get the dreaded Blue Screen of Death when I try to run it - I can't complain about the EULA since I haven't got that far yet! Tried reinstalling 3 times, no dice. I've run P4, Carrara Studio, Amapi 6, Corel Draw 10 and a number of games on this machine - this is the first app that's ever given me problems like this. Sure it would be slow, but shouldn't it at least run? Hopefully a patch will cure what's been ailing us all... Cheers, Bonzai Gopher

By far the greatest proportion of problems seem to be reported by people using Windows 95/98 or ME, rather than Win2K or XP. This, I suspect, is probably where the major system issues lie, rather than with the processor/video card combination. Bill

Still waiting for P5 at the moment but... Had a problem under P4 a few days ago rendering a single tree from the Virtual Forest pack.. Win98/ NVIDIA GeForce2 MX 400 / 350 meg mem / AMD Duron 850... okay I have a slower processor ;) I downloaded the latest Nvidia drivers as someone suggested and the problem was fixed - perfect render. I'd had this in the past with imported 3ds and obj files but never on a purchased prop so I put it down previously to bad modelling work. Someone else in the chat room said they had experienced the same problem with the same graphics card under P4. I can only presume under P5 is going to be the same if you don't have up to date drivers. Can't wait for my new system to turn up all the same:)

WinXP/Nvidia GF2MX400/1Gb Ram/ 2.0Ghz Intel Pentium 4. But I'm still waiting for Poser5 to arrive, hell I'm still waiting for it to arrive in Ireland before it can come out to me. Someone tell the Irishman to peddle faster ;) lol
