Subject: Poser 5 - Import in Bryce without hair and eyes!!!???

AndreasVS ( ) posted Sun, 22 September 2002 at 12:51 PM · edited Tue, 12 November 2024 at 1:11 AM

Hi, the new Poser 5 - figures lost their hair and eyes after importing in Bryce 5. What's the mistake? Have anybody an answer about this problems? Thank you very much!!! Andreas

the eyes should still be there, they have an extra layer on the eyes to give reflections, if you can find that in the list it's usually called eyeball, make it transparent or use a glass texture on it. the hair is another story, one I can't help with as I haven't joined the Poser5 club yet.

You are dreaming too much on import/export stuff from Poser. Theres alot of great benefits with dynamics in P5. Maybe you should start exporting stuff from bryce and xfrogs. Waldoo

The P5 dynamic growing hair (or whatever you call it) does not export at all. CL did state this prior to P5s release, but it was kinda glossed over by talk of all the new features.

There is actualy a way to export it by modifying the .Obj file but it's not worth the effort as the resulting hair is a jagged single block, of little or no use in bryce. best to stick with transmapped hair for exporting. the eye situation is the same as mike and vicky and can be fixed as noted above.

Perhaps Corel will add support for Poser's dynamic hair in Bryce 6. Or maybe not.

Maybe Corel will. But if CL didn't include support for Corels current flagship rendering prog why would they bother? Surely its up to the people who are developing and releasing new software to make it compatible with the software that's already out there and widely used. If they dont there is no onus on other developers to support the features that they themselves have neglected. The more I read about Poser5 and its fantastic new array of bugs and glitches the happier I am that I decided to wait before buying. The 'fantastic' dynamic wire-wool hair doesn't export at all? Sits back and waits for Daz to get their act together
