Subject: Poser 5: Judy full body morphs don't work

Zed1 ( ) posted Mon, 23 September 2002 at 7:31 PM ยท edited Sun, 04 August 2024 at 1:56 PM

The subject says it all: I don't get the full body morphs of the Poser 5 female (like breats for example) to work. I can move the dials but nothing happens. What's wrong with it? Any help? THX

They know and they are telling us to wait until they do an update. I'm getting a bit tired of waiting myself. If you can't get the job done CL, hire someone who can. Marque

Here's a work-a-round for the body morph issue:

  1. Save your character in WAV Obj format and exit the program.
  2. Open the file with a text editor and change all of the "l " s to "f "s.
  3. Open Poser and import the character.
  4. Click-on the "materials" tab
  5. When the materials room opens DON'T DO ANYTHING.
  6. While the materials room is still open, for Windows press Shift+K+? and return to the Pose Room.
  7. Click-on the white body circle and Open the Body Morph Dialogue Box.
  8. Choose your Morph and click-on the dial, BUT DO NOT TURN THE DIAL!
  9. Save your character and exit Poser.
  10. Reopen your OBJ File with your text editor and change all the "f "s to " l"s
  11. Open Poser and import the character.
  12. Click-on the "materials" tab
  13. When the materials room opens DON'T DO ANYTHING.
  14. While the materials room is still open, for Windows press Shift+K+? and return to the Pose Room.
  15. Click-on the white body circle and Open the Body Morph Dialogue Box.
  16. Choose your Morph and click-on the dial, BUT DO NOT TURN THE DIAL!
  17. Save your character and exit Poser.
Reopen your OBJ File with your text editor and change all the "f "s back to to "l "s
  18. Open Poser and import the character.
  19. Click-on the "materials" tab
  20. When the materials room opens DON'T DO ANYTHING.
  21. While the materials room is still open, for Windows press Shift+K+? and return to the Pose Room.
  22. Click-on the white body circle and Open the Body Morph Dialogue Box.
  23. Choose your Morph and click-on the dial

If this doesn't work:

  1. Save your character in OBJ format, take two aspirins and stay in bed until the patch is ready for download.

I might not be the smartest man alive, but all this room changing in Poser 5 sound kinda confusing, if you ask me there should be some way to simplify the application.

Ask me a question, and I'll give you an answer.

OMG, I could probably use magnets to morph Judy quicker than using that method, and I stink at using magnets! That is one scary workaround. JDexter

#3 = ? It is easy to fix, just very repetitive. 1)Under Edit:Restore:Figure 2)Set all morphs with the same name to 1.0, group by group (Most are only each collar - a few also chest - the nails - there are 10 to deal with.) 3)Under Figure:Create Full Body Morph = name it after the morph. Repeat this loop for each morph group. One thing: there is a morph in chest that is set by default to 1.0. This one(s) should be zero. If the figure was memorized with this morph(s) at 1.0, then restore will not zero it. Since the code that the dial in BODY is using is missing - before you begin, it would be wise to: Window:Hierarchy Editor:Show ALL parameters and delete for FB morph dials in Body ONLY BODY and ONLY FB morphs dials If you use an identical name it will be no problem, if you have a different one there will be a mixture of good and void dials. I provided limits for the dials in BODY that are a bit more realistic than +/- 10000, which is Poser default. You can see them in settings

THX for all your answers. Unfortunately I can't take Aspirin because these pills cause a pain in my stomach - so I will have to bear the pain and wait for the patch. I have to repeat what others already said: Shame on the betatesters. When I buy a new model at DAZ the first thing I do is to check out the dials... Regards Zed
