Now I'm wondering how many different computers you've had since you began using Poser 4. Ok I'll shut up now and stop asking silly qustions. :)

One. Bought P2 used from a MacWorld advert, shortly after P3 emerged-- I've been upgrading Poser on the same machine ever since.

7 - Four Macs and three PC's... It's getting awfully cramped in here... ;)

I've had the same computer since 1994. It's been in a constant state of evolution since I bought it, however.

It began its life as an Intel 486-DX (33MHz) with 4MB of memory, a 200MB hard drive, and a 3x CD-ROM. In its current incarnation, it's a Pentium 3-850MHz with 128MB of memory, 30GB hard drive, and a couple of DVD-ROM drives. Next month, it enters its cocoon and emerges as either a Pentium 4 or an Athlon XP, whether it likes it or not.

3 macs, now have 1 major mac and 2 pcs

Six. 2 DELL, 2 MICRON (Micron rules!), and two Gateway laptops. I now have every class of Penitum (1-4) sitting in one room. Heh, and my Mac buddies wondered why I thought networking was so important way back when. LOL!

I just got P4 a few months ago and the only upgrade I've made was a new data drive just before installing P5. This 1.4g athelon / Asus will take up to a 2.1 chip so I'm bidding on a new chip. Every year or so I redo the MB/Chip/Ram so come December I'll likely be building a new system for my drives again.

One. The advent of P5 caused me to finally replace my trusty P2 Whimpypooter I'd had since '96. Now gleefully experiencing techo-shock.

Three, all PCs. went from a 666mhz to an 800 to a 1.0Ghz. now I need to start shopping for just a chip upgrade unless I stumble on another super deal like those that resulted in the above systems coming home with me.

Same towers, with innards changing every year, but not next year. That's it for a while. Right now, the server is a Thunderbird, 1.6+ with 1.5 G ram (I always match my CPU speed with my ram. I find the puters work more efficiently configured that way.) I have ATI 7200s on both main computers, and lots of 40G HDs. Lost my big screen monitor the day before P5 got here... I'm wondering what I should be looking at in .25 and< 19" monitors... One dvd, one burner and on fast cd on both main computers. Zip and an old PDrom give me removable data capability. Q

Same computer since 1995 but regularly upgraded. Now, its an Intel 233 Mhz, 180 Mb RAM computer. It has always been slow with Poser. Recently I bought a new one for XP and P5. It's an AMD 600 Mhz, 500 Mb RAM computer but I've already upgraded the processor to 1,5 Mhz ;) P4 behaves well with the new computer.

Hmm...just one computer, but like some of the others here it's been in a constant state of evolution. Started out as a 486 133MHz with 128 Ram and two 2 gig HD and a CD RW but now it's a 1.4GB Athlon with 512 MB memory and a single 120 GB HD with a CDRW and DVDRom. I'm planning to add another cooling fan to the case next week (and STILL trying to figure out why the darn thing doesn't want to read all three DIMM slots at the same time. Two at a time is fine, but not all three - and I KNOW that all three of them work, they just don't want to work together. sigh and me with another 236 megs of ram to add in there...But I love the new case - it's gorgeous g) Dr. Katenstein

2 or maybe 3 Macs-- I had a clone in there and am blocking out all the time I spent reformatting that thing everyweek. 6 or 7 PC's-- two of them are laptops. Several have been passed on to less fortunate friends. Which I am dying to do with my remaining Mac if they will ever get an emulator for PowerMac. Emily

Three... a dual 233, a 450, and a dual 600. And all three still are operating systems. ;]

Three, a Pentium 200 classic with Win95 and 64MB ram (it ran Poser 4 but very slowly), Pentium III 500 with Win98 and 512MB ram and now the P4 1.7GHz with XP Home and 512MB ram. All three are sitting here running.

2 pcs, a home made pent 350, and my darling dell p4 1.4gig.

5: PII 300MHz w. 128MB RAM PIII 500MHz w. 256MB RAM upgraded to 768MB Athlon 1.4GHz w. 512MB RAM upgraded to 1GB PIV 2.4GHz w. 1GB RAM Laptop PIV 2GHz 512MB RAM Don't ask about Harddiscs, I've really lost count. Must be at least 1/2 TB by now (although some are RAID mirrored) -- Mark Yes I have a habit. No I'm not seeking help to kick it.

Just one, but like the cells in the human body, its components periodically slough off and are replaced with young, vigorous ones. :-) My main rig can trace its history back eleven years, but literally everything in it has been replaced at least once, including the case--and some things have been replaced several times. It started life as a 33 MHz 386 with 4MB of RAM and 120MB of hard disk space; now's it's an Athlon XP 1700+ with 1GB of RAM and 100 GB of hard disk space. Ahhh, progress. :-)

1. But I run Poser on only one of them. The others are for business or charity work. Thank Gods for home networking!

Just one OLD non-evolved P-II 400Mhz w/ 8Gb HD which I've been using ever since I first got Bryce 3 and Poser 2. The only upgrades I've been able to afford for it was bumping the memory up to 256Mb and adding a 40Gb external HD. Hoping that MAYBE by the end of next year I can afford to get rid of it and move to a 'new-er' obsolete machine. DREAMING that maybe someday I can afford to have a machine that's not already several 'generations' (of PC's) into obsolescence at the time I buy it. I have certainly learned the truth in the computerland axiom "If you can afford it, it's obsolete."

Holy cow. Ok here's mine. I've gone through a Packard Bell 166Mhs(yuck), a AMD 350MHz K-6 machine and then a Intel 450Mhz. That doesn't count all the upgrades...all new hard drives, two CPUs and a lot of video cards. Now I'm parts shoping for building a Athlon 2000XP type machine. :)

typical...i got p4 on a amd450 homemade job, then went with a AMD tbird 1333 and crammed a bunch o memory in it, then a AMD XP1800 266 nforce moboard, NOW i went 333 mhx and slapped a AMD XP2100 in it and 768 megs RAM. (some of us are NEVER happy I guess) :)
