Subject: Need help with Pose library

My pose library file is huge. To make it easier to find things, I would like to split it in two(maybe putting just Mat files somewhere else). Can I rename the file ext.and place them in the camera library, and have everything work OK? Don't know much about it,but would the P3dO library manager help?

Well you can do 2 things...You can put the MAT files in the camera folder (or any other folder...I use the Camera folder because there's nothing in it) just rename all the files to cm2 instead of pz2. :) You can also move the MOR folders to another folder (I use the Face folder so all my morphs and stuff are together...) It works for me without a problem. There's a program called Lupa's Renamer that will be a lot faster to change extentions. I don't have the URL for the program, but I know it's in an old thread around here. (I asked the same question eons ago) P3dO is simply GREAT...(it also helps change the rsr files for those non Pro Pack users out there...BIG help) I use it daily for the most part LOL

Oh, another thing I was going to mention is you can also combine folders of similar poses...I do that a lot. I have like 4 or 5 sets of Vicki with a sword poses and just made one folder and put all of the pz2 files in that one folder (Don't sub folder them, they won't work) I cut my Pose folder from like 150+ folders to just about 70(still big, I know, still working on it) I also kinda got rid of all the "standard" poser 4 poses (well I put them all in 1 folder and threw a "z" at the end of it so I still have them if I want to use them (but why LOL)

serpentis,Thanks for the advice...just downloaded P3dO,and going to start combining, and moving to my oddly empty camera folder.(Odd because I make most of my income as a photographer)Thanks again! POIU

Not a problem POIU. :) I'm glad I could help you. Trust me, the Pose folder getting HUGE is a common problem among Poser users LOL I'm just glad I could help someone out around here after all the great people that have helped me out.

I hear good things about PBooost, available from the store. Also check out the above link.

One of the things I really like about P5 is the ability to arrange Libraries any way I want just by using normal Windows Explorer drag n' drop copy methods. I totally rearranged my P5 Library folder structure after copying in all my P4 Runtime files (being careful not to overwrite any stuff unique to P5). Now I have my 12 Gig Runtime entirely in P5 arranged to my liking, and don't have to keep P4 on my system since I didn't link the P4 Runtime to P5. Also, I don't have to face the decision as to which version of Poser Runtime (P4 or P5) to add new items to in the future - they all go in P5. This all made using PBoost and CorrectReference unnecessary. P5 recognizes everything I copied over from P4. Best of all, all of my MAT files are categorized nicely and I don't have the old P4 problem of not being able to read the MAT file headers that happened with an overloaded P4 Pose Library (i.e., the dropdown list becoming to narror to show the full folder names).

That's great to hear Terry. I'm saving my pennies for P5 (soon...very very soon I hope LOL) I've heard about the issues with the p4 linking and was wondering about that... but I'm still not sure if I'll be using P4 and P5 together...I might...I've got a big enough HD lol
