Also, having the ability for the "bookmarked" threads to filter to the top of the list would be beneficial. That way, you can follow the discussions you are really interested in without having to surf through the myriad of other posts that may mean little or nothing to you. While they are at it, maybe an "ignore thread" can be used as well, for the opposite reason of the "bookmarked" one.
Bloodsong, I was wondering what you were doing by entering a "bookmarked" reply. Ok, now I know. This is a good idea to allow the option. We can BM the thread in a directory of our favorites on the browser. But for me this is not fun cuz I have a huge favorites that's really kinda out of hand right now.
heyas; no, i don't mean bookmarking them in your browser. when people come in and just type a . for a message; that's what i mean. they do that with the 'email when someone replies' thing turned on, so they get an email when the thread discussion continues. personally, i am able to keep track of threads i am discussing, threads i am ignoring, and threads i've read or don't want to read, etc etc, without all that e-bot nonsense. but that's just me ;)
This is a good Idea(I wish we could impliment it at our site). One of the things I try to do(and Yes I do "bookmark"hot threads) is to put "bookmarked" in the SUBJECT header so when an e-bot goes out to all those recieving them, they will know it's just a bookmark and not have to bother coming back to the thread just to read"Bookmarked". Great Idea Tom

heyas; just another passing idea you can listen to or ignore or whatever. seems some people don't have anything to contribute to a thread, but they just want to read it. and for some bizarre reason, they want the ebot to email them when somebody else posts. yeah, okay, to each his own, right? (don't they get annoyed when they get fifteen ebots for new replies that are only .'s too? oh well.) so yeah, okay, you end up with a thread with a buncha .'s in it. maybe there could be a separate 'bookmark this thread' or 'watch this thread' thing they could check or press or whatever, so they can do that without having to post to it when they have nothing to say.
