Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 09 3:46 am)

Subject: If I bought one more thing in the marketplace it would be ....

So what's the one more Poser thing(s) that would make your life complete? More plants? More clothes for the boys? More clothes for anyone but Vick/Posette? More p5 hair? A complete box of Crayola(TM) crayons? Be specific! (the merchants are watching) As for me personally: A good gnarly oak tree, a cat that is cat shaped, a dial-a-morph fourlegged land mammal, girl-shaped girls for vick and steph, and reallly long hair (floor length) for vick AND Mike. Also more goth boys :)

I want a llama. :(

Niles ( ) posted Tue, 01 October 2002 at 11:17 PM

More clothes for the Boys, but I have been begging for over 6 months. I guess the only thing really sells good is sex related, so the venders produce what sells... which is really kinda sad. Niles

Netherworks ( ) posted Tue, 01 October 2002 at 11:32 PM

I want the Mighty Morphing Power Penis! But seriously, collared shirts for Mike (with modelled, not textured-in collars). Also, modern, morphing hairstyle for mike.

.

xoconostle ( ) posted Wed, 02 October 2002 at 12:14 AM

Since you ask, I'm with dialyn on the llama. What an adorable beast. Um, at least to look at. :-) This is super-specialized, but I want authentic (as opposed to "tourist-style") Mariachi or traje charro outfits for Michael. It would be nice to also have available the Mariachi family of musical instruments...guitarron, vihuela, harp etc. Victoria would be beautifully complimented by folkloric Mexican dresses, which are quite lovely and would probably be popular in Poser-land. Just a little fantasy. Maybe in two years or so I'll be talented enough (and have time enough) to make them myself, but in the meantime, I'd be happy to pay for 'em. I'd do so in a second, if they existed, but they don't.

soulhuntre ( ) posted Wed, 02 October 2002 at 12:34 AM

I can give you a fairly short list * "generic" sci-fi clothing for vicky and mike. Look at "andromeda" for far future stuff and "stargate" for near future. * modern or club clothing for vicky and steph. sexy but "street" wearable. * a good backpack for vicky/steph/mike - with morphs for how full it is. Character creation for Vicky/Mike is what we do for a living, there isn't much market for more "temple" wear, but generic sci-fi/modern stuff is always useable. At least for me, I have no use for "period" clohing - I doubt I will never need a 17th century pirates outfit and so on.

A posable Dove for poser

Diandra ( ) posted Wed, 02 October 2002 at 2:12 AM

Yes, a poseable Dove for poser would be great! I have used Anton's songbird and coloured it myself but it is only good for far off shots! Would prefer a good model of a dove for poser.

KateTheShrew ( ) posted Wed, 02 October 2002 at 2:13 AM

Business wear for both Mike and Vicky (something that doesn't stretch the textures at the shoulder?), everyday and party clothes for the kids (and I don't mean clubbing type party clothes - I mean nice, Sunday-Go-To-Meeting type stuff).

KateTheShrew ( ) posted Wed, 02 October 2002 at 2:17 AM

Oh, and normal, everyday, NON SEXY poses. You know - answering the phone, reading a book, stirring a pot of stew, talking to the neighbor over the back fence, pushing a grocery cart, looking through a file cabinet, working at the computer type poses. I swear, if I see one more swayback standing on tippy toe vicky pose I'm gonna scream. And while we're at it, could we have a few "holding the coat over the shoulder by one finger and looking behind you" poses? And hanging on to your purse where the shoulder strap attaches so it's harder for the crooks to rip off and run away with while walking down the street poses would be nice. :) Kate (well, you did ASK)

"A posable Dove for poser" Yes! Pretty please?! I've been looking for one for over a year now. I've tried tricks with all the birds I have, and non are convincing.

something bussiness-like for mike, as opposite to wusamah's clothes for vicky (openable jacket with no shoulder pads, modern shoes, shirt, tie).

noggin ( ) posted Wed, 02 October 2002 at 3:39 AM

Ha! Llamas seems high on the list and Dove's_ Natural History is my modelling 'thing' so I'll stick 'em on my to do list_ but don't hold your breath everyone..these things take time! Do you have any particular Llama type in mind?

Farside ( ) posted Wed, 02 October 2002 at 4:02 AM

Been looking for a stretch limosine, fully detailed inside and out with the ability to turn off sections of the car to allow interior renders. Possibly outfits for Vicky and/or Mike chauffers. Never found one in any store so far.

TygerCub ( ) posted Wed, 02 October 2002 at 5:18 AM

A sports bike. Not another cruiser or Harley Davidson, but a racing style motorcycle like a Katana or SuperHawk. I haven't found one of those yet.

PabloS ( ) posted Wed, 02 October 2002 at 5:59 AM

I think I would ditto just about everything soulhuntre listed...

mon1alpha ( ) posted Wed, 02 October 2002 at 6:22 AM

As somebody has already said decent clothing for the P4 man would be nice, I've looked at some of the male poser sites and, well they're somewhat sex orientated, which is fine for some folks but for the images I'm trying to create the thongs, straps and..ahem..other items are not suitable :) I would also like a female p4 cyclops head...what?..it flippin' isn't a weird request! I want to make a 'Leela' from Futurama. Decent african male textures would be nice. Mon

Poserworld has the ballerina stuff for the Mil kids...Sharen They are quite stunning

Papu ( ) posted Wed, 02 October 2002 at 10:06 AM

I agree with Kate. More everyday poses... I would consider making some myself but it just happens I seem to suck at the actual posing part of Poser ;)

genny ( ) posted Wed, 02 October 2002 at 10:19 AM

What I would like is a Harness for the poser horse, one that has the strap things that attach to the wagon. Forgive me, I am a city girl and don't know what you call them. (: Don't get me wrong, I like the one by Bloodsong, and use it quite frequently, but it just doesn't look right, hanging off the horse and not attached to the wagon in anyway. I have tried creating some, (just the straps) but I am afraid that my modeling skill leave a WHOLE LOT to be desired. (: Genny

(1) a walk designer for quadrapeds. (2) a good particle effects generator for Poser (btw are the particle effect scripts at DAZ any good?) (3) a decent Poser cat...like someone above. And a feline walk cycle would be "tres cool!" --lb

pdxjims ( ) posted Wed, 02 October 2002 at 12:06 PM

A few things come to mind. 1) A brownstone/rowhouse scene, turn of the century. Trash street comes close, but its really too modern. I want it with ornate stone and woodwork, like in old New York or Philly. Different textures on it would be GREAT, something very stylish and well kept, to immigrant tenement. 2) Period cloths for Mike, the kids, and Vicky from the 1920's through the 1940's. Zoot suits, flapper outfits, beaver skin coat. Men's shirts with garters. Those big shoulder RED dresses and pillbox hats. 3) Morphs for Don. Don is really as bad as the dork, and I'm afraid that he's going to be as overlooked as the dork was. There are lots of morphs for Posette, but very few for the good old dork. A package of good morphs you could add to Don to make him more user friendly (add muscles, smooth contours, as well as the usual chest, penis, and nipple morphs) would really make him MUCH more useful. 4) And most of all - for freestuff - a no holds barred, distributable, Mike and Vicky P5 skullcap hair base with lots of polygons that make sense. I love the one that comes with neftis' hair, but I can't distribute it with my own styles. I even downloaded the free version of Amapmi to see if I could make one myself to give away, but my modeling skills are lacking. oh yeah, a llama and a dove and a pigeon... perferably by Lynn over at Vista International. I got her pig and goat, and they're great.

animals and more animals...birds, dogs, and so forth... how about some boats...jet ski, fishing boats, pleasure craft....with water skiies, etc... regular clothes are a high priority..for vic and mike...plus now the new p5 folks....

A realistic Asian texture (or three) for Michael. (Morphs in the package would be welcomed but not required.) A real cat.

kuroyume0161 ( ) posted Wed, 02 October 2002 at 12:37 PM

Ni! A realistic Asian morph for Michael would be nice too! I find that the eyes never look like the photos that I'm using for reference (you know, the eyelids and especially around the lacrimal). Ni! Ni! And not too expensive. Kuroyume

  1. a Poodle! (Barbie has a poodle so Vicki and Stephanie need a poodle) 2) mil. kid's clothes - both girl and boy - something other than capri pants and sandals. I wanted to make an outfit for the the mil girls - but need a long sleeved shirt to pull it off. Jeans, Bib overalls and a flared skirt/sweater would be great, even some chunky shoes for them too!

I've been looking for an electric wheelchair, found lots of manual ones but no electric. mike

JetM ( ) posted Wed, 02 October 2002 at 9:42 PM

an unbuttonable shirt for the mil women (wusamah's is a bit too "tailored" for me). I'm looking for a plaid, everyday type of shirt. glasses with morphable liquid inside, all on their own (I've seen them as part of other packages). Including liquid at a slant for when they're being drunk from.

pdxjims ( ) posted Thu, 03 October 2002 at 11:03 AM

Thought of another one. P5 gives you so many settings in the material room, and we can finally add textures over textures using alternate diffuse. I think a really great idea would be seperate body hair packages. Not full textures, but things that can be used with the alternate diffuse settings to overlay body hair on a figure. There are a few freebies out there now, but they lack detail and variation. I'd love to take the body hair on Quim's Paco or Jose Cortes and apply it to one of the good, no body hair mats. Also tattoo packages, using the same method. Right now I'm up to my armpits trying to get a tat to span a seem. Someone ought to write a graphics utility that takes a standard tat, and overlays it on a standard texture (P4, Mike, Vicky). Don't want much, do I? Oh yeah, changed my mind on the dove, unless it comes with a bird crap prop and a bb gun. I worked in a high rise once, and the d*mn things ruined my view. Still want the llama though...

How about decent jockey shorts, a wrestling singlet and a speedo bathing suit for Michael.
