Subject: Curious Labs: What's the score?

It took me all night to download the Figures patch. The app. patch was 90% done when I got bumped-off the first time and then again and again. I got bumped-off so often I'm starting to channel Jimmy Hoffa. I come back to the Forum and there are 3 pages of posts, some of them confusing. So what's the score as of now? 1. Are the two patches usable? 2. Do I need the preference patch? How do I know if I need it? 3. Will the Expos stay in Montreal? Please give us a definitive answer. I'll wait to dl the app. patch untill Jimmy gets tired... Regards, Q

Still waiting for that fumble ball (premature release of P5) to get picked up by the quarterback. Come CL, YOU CAN DO IT! Go! Go! Go!

I asked elsewhere, "what happens if the patch size becomes larger than the program?"

  1. We certainly hope so! We've put the patch through extensive testing. 2) If you downloaded the patch BEFORE we added the prefs file, then you need to get the prefs files, otherwise the patch contains them. 3) God, I hope so! ;-) Anthony H. Curious Labs

Anthony, I got P5 today, installed it and everything was fine. Then I installed the patches (downloaded them seperately today), rebooted and as I wanted to start Poser I got an error message. I already described it in another thread (see above link). Without the patches I have no problems running P5.

One more question Anthony, then I'll get Hoffa your case... Am I correct in assuming that the pref. patch only affects the app. patch and not the figures patch? It's hard for me to tell at what time the pref. patch was posted and where I was at the time... Hey! I know, you may not know the answer to this, but don't worry there's time. I ain't trying this again for a while. Most frustrating download in my history on the Net. Q PS: Jimmy says "Hi"

Of course, bug fixes and SR packs are not the ONLY outstanding issue with Poser 5 ;-)
