Subject: 3D worlds kits - need raw power or lots of memory?

I've got my eye on the 3D worlds kit that's on sale at DAZ, but I understand it's very system intensive. I just got (as in yesterday) a new 1.7GHz processor (wow, look at it go! I upgraded from a 450MHz), but I'm still RAM limited (375MB usable by system). Will I be able to use it OK, or should I save my pennies for a different toy?

I've been using it for several months now with no problem. I have 1.3 GHz and 256 RAM, so you can definitely handle it with what you have.

That kit works fine on my system but I have a gig o' ram. On my older computer I have a half gig and it works pretty well. Not sure how it would respond to 375mb. However, I can tell you that this pic was made with the 3dworldz kit by Andix and it is fantastic, although not as versatile as 3D Worlds. This pic uses several elements from the basic 3dWorldz and the newer expansion pack plus several props and the 3dModelz Foreground Tool. What makes this great? The file size of the pz3 is a mere 714kb! So if you're worried about system resources, the Andix stuff may be a better bet.

I ran it on my 750 with 128 ram and it was no problem and WELL worth the money. Excellent program and professionally done. Marque

I'd say get both the 3D-Worlds and the Worldz kit.

Yup I have both and they are really nice. Just be sure to read the readme's on them. Marque

It's fine with 370 ram 'cause that's what I've got and I bought it last week. What fun I had all weekend :)

I got it myself, and whee! I LIKE it! Definitely worth the price of admission.
