Subject: Animation Render Limbo (P4)

I seem to remember someone else having this problem: Rendering 720x480 five second anim (uncompressed frames). All goes well until the last frame when it just sits there and cooks. When I finally end it manually and try to play it, nothing will open it. My suspision is that Poser wants to launch and play anims as soon as they're rendered and this being a rather big one (150mb) it chokes. Any suggestions, or a way to disable the auto play

Had this in P4 running under W2K, does not seem to happen with P5.The render would die after 100 to 150 frames and hang for ever with no file closed hence not readable. Cured by buying and using 'batchgen' utility, quite cheap. Sorry no better help.

Thanks, where can I get batchgen and what exactly (or approximately) does it do?

Look in the marketplace (I think, will check on Thurs). It sets up a python script to generate single frame renders for all the cameras and frame ranges that you tell it to do. It can also be set up for a number of different poser files at the same time. It includes an utility to convert the single frame ranges into anims. It is good if you have a lot of small anims to produce as you can run them overnight.
