Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 23 8:11 am)
heyas; problem 1: weird seams on the side. when you converted the model from nurbs to mesh in rhino, did you weld the vertices? rhino tends to leave things open (unwelded) on one side. i use a mesh weld command that uses an angle of 180 degrees, to try to get the identical vertices all welded. and/or you can import the obj into poser with 'weld identical vertices' checked, and then export it from there as your base obj. problem 2: seams split when you bend. erm... did you say you split the mesh IN rhino? and you did it while it was in nurbs before you made them meshes? don't do that. the seams will NOT line up, and you CAN'T weld them. did you say you just exported the nurbs as an obj? don't do THAT! convert to a mesh inside rhino first, so you can see what you're doing. :) split the mesh into groups using uvmapper, or even p4's grouping tool. rhino just isn't a good tool for doing that. anyhow, if the vertices on the edges don't line up, they won't weld. other reasons for not welding: body parts with bend turned off, workspace with bend figure turned off.... but my guess is your mesh is screwed up.
