Nice job. However, it doesn't have a real sense of "weight"... I'd reccomend that the forelegs step rather inward, the current stance makes me think it's going to collapse on itself any minute now. For a sense of weight, look at how an Elephant walks... The whole body shudders when its feet hit the ground, and I don't mean skin jiggle, I mean it's like every joint recoils from the shock. The Bull Dragon from Reign of Fire did the same thing.

Nice work and flow. I would limit the swaying of the necks-heads, because it seems "too much" compared to the body's movement to me. Also i would try to differentiate the heads, like, having the right head turn right (something like that). This would help to feel that the three heads have a sense (individual function), else they would act like just one head.

MUCH better. However, the footfalls are still too "soft"... it feels like it's walking on its tiptoes. One suggestion is to have the feet almost slam into the ground, and the next fram or two have the whole leg shudder a bit. Good work, this should be rockin' pretty soon!

I'd make the tail look like it has more weight. Somthing like a slightly delayed up/down 'wave' like motion that's sympathetic to the up/down motion of the hip. It's hard to explain, but this creature is suppose to be fairly large, so it would be using it's tail for keeping balance of it's back end. Maybe somthing similar to cracking a whip, but not too pronounced. Also... Animals with long necks, kind of 'throw' their heads toward the direction they step. Think of how a Giraffe would walk, leading with it's head.

October 14, 2002. The "Work In Progress" is progressing... May be. New version. At same url. http://www.belino.net/wip/ Better version ? :-]Philippe
That fellow looks very heavy, love the quiver on the legs when the foot falls. That looks like a very balance walk to me. Something about right front leg bothers me. It looks like the foot is sliding on something as it lands because it scoots forward a bit. Its left front leg looks more like a solid landing although there might be a tiny bit of slip there too.

It's about animation. I am working on a walk for the Hydra. Not sure it's ok. :-( If you please, what do you think about the current work in progress? (the link added)? It's QuickTime 6 format. Animated in PPP and rendered in Vue-Mover... *2''09. 25 fps. 320x240. 192 ko.* thanks in advance for your help. Philippe
