Subject: So, where it it?...

At one point I followed a link to a site that had plants on it, and in the meshes I found a bare twisty branch. Now I need a bare twisty branch and can't find one anywhere...any suggestions, short of modeling one myself...? Zhann

Try this link, this site has a whole page of free plants. I'm not sure, but you may have to register your e-mail address to go here. Hope this helps.

3Dplants.com has lots of free weeds and plants, maybe you'll find what you're looking for there. Doug

Been to all of the above, no luck, even did a search on models, no luck there either. So the question is, can the tree lab do just a bare branch? My little Bryce voice is telling me, nonononononononononono, it's right isn't it huh?...

Oh,..wait, could I take all the leaves off a vine, (they're twisty, right?), I downloaded a couple of vines, can you manipulate models you download? guess I'll try....(thinking out loud, bad habit)...opinions?

You can get a bare tree in the tree lab. Just lower the number of leaves slider to "0". Voila! Bare branches.

Have you tried making the shape you want in the terrain editor?

Zhann ( ) posted Mon, 14 October 2002 at 12:59 AM

Colette1 uh, well no, I'm not sure how to do it in the terrian editor, do you have instructions on how to do it that way? I would love you forever if you did, as I'm new to Bryce5, I've been sorta blindly feeling my way on how to do things. I know I should be reading about these things in the manual and I have Real World Bryce, but I can't drag myself away from using it, long enough to read. As you may have noticed I'm impatient and quite addicted to Bryce...:)

Okay, first you create a lattice. Go into the terrain editor, click on "new" so you start with a blank canvas. for the model branch I have here, the brush is medium, color set all the way to white. Draw your branch the way you want it. any branching out of course should be made with a smaller brush. Just have to keep experimenting until you get the right branch you want. Hope this helps.
