Looks like I can fianlly use P5 with it crashing if I look at it funny. Here's my render playing around with some of the toys I broke down and got.....

Lunaseas ( ) posted Thu, 17 October 2002 at 11:22 PM

Rather without it crashing...geesh...

ronstuff ( ) posted Thu, 17 October 2002 at 11:50 PM

Definitely works better, and firefly renders look great, but I'm still getting "Caught C Exception" errors (but less frequently).

Lunaseas ( ) posted Fri, 18 October 2002 at 12:19 AM

Haven't gotten any yet now...P5 was almost unusable with the first patch...and the firefly renders are still really slow, but at least it slowly seems to be improving. Have you tried a p4 style render now, boy that just zips along at breakneck speed now! By the fourth or fifth patch we should have a pretty nice program. The only thing that still tends to hiccup on me is the hair room. I also haven't been brave enough to try the atmosphere thing either.

The reflection is superb! My p5 is getting better with each patch but still woking on some issues. I agree that if they adress stability problems that people are having and implement some enhancements like higher res textures in the face room, color picker/matcher tool for head and neck(same tool could be used in many other ways as well), and yes....(drum roll)....undue feature we will have a program fit for some ground breaking renders.

Now that's handsome. I like what you have going on in the crystal ball. :)

wonderful, really wonderful...Sharen

It looks like P5 is finally starting to have potential. If it keeps improving at this rate, I may get the upgrade after Christmas.

movida ( ) posted Fri, 18 October 2002 at 6:34 AM

I like it a lot also, can you tell me what the render time was?

Marque ( ) posted Fri, 18 October 2002 at 7:28 AM

Actually the rendering seems to be a lot faster for both ff and p4 now. Nice image, I like the globe. Marque

I can now finally open .pz3 files made in Poser 4 that I couldn't open before the patch in Poser 5! I'm very happy with the new patch. :-)

Lunaseas ( ) posted Fri, 18 October 2002 at 10:36 AM

The render time was about 12 minutes if I remember right.

Dave-So ( ) posted Fri, 18 October 2002 at 10:37 AM

I had some .pz3 files that I created in P5 that would not render...they now work... We're getting there.

Can you open the Walk Designer with SP-2? Just curious because I can't. ScottA

Walk Designer will not open...got a c exception error...it did work before SR-2b

Haven't tried that...I will get to it later see if it will go on mine.

I think this thread may address the C Exception problem:

Good luck!

Yeah. I know how to fix it. I just wondered if the people saying that everything worked had a working WD. It looks like it's a bug that is across the board. And happening for everyone. Just wanted to be sure. Not really a big problem. It's an easy problem to fix. They just forgot to include something when they made the SR-2 update. Those are the easiest to fix. Thanks for checking. Great looking render. Very cool reflection. Also like the hair.

Artist3D ( ) posted Fri, 18 October 2002 at 7:52 PM

Walk Designer does not work in Poser5 for me.I did not load any patches yet and am STILL waiting for the Patch CD I was promised.

Lunaseas ( ) posted Sat, 19 October 2002 at 1:18 PM

ok, I do have a weird new problem....what's in my preview doesn't always show up in the render...so I wind up with figure with it's head cut off!
