Subject: Low Res Michael file?

BAM ( ) posted Fri, 18 October 2002 at 8:17 PM · edited Sun, 22 December 2024 at 10:12 PM

First, I am NOT asking anyone to send or tell me where to go to get this file! I have had some hard drive problems and I'm trying to restore/fix everything. Much seems fine except that I thought I had Michael 2.0 Reduced Resolution Figure from DAZ, but I cannot find the appropriate .exe file. Was the .exe file titled XXXXXlores.exe like Victoria's was? Was lores Michael included in the Michael 2.0 .exe? Was lores Michael originally part of a freebee? I have checked my history at DAZ and I am not listed as having purchased it, but that history does not seem to be correct as some things seem to be listed more than once and others I have purchased not listed at all. Thanks for your help.

I forgot the filename but as it was never a freebie, if you had it you bought it and daz will have your purchase on file and you can ask them to allow you another download of it.

The file is called: ps_pe033-mike.exe I save all my DAZ file info. in a spreadsheet which is the only way to track them especially since they're going back to meaningless number file names. I don't know why they can't allow a special area to download paid for files like Renderosity does at least for a month or longer. The way I see it, how many copies would anyone want of the same file, and if they're worried about piracy, anyone can download it once and burn several CDs of it--so what's the difference? I've found problems with the 3-download limit especially when the DAZ site f's up which is just about every weekend.

Forgot to add, the Lo-Res version of Michael 2.0 is not included in Hi-Res version, but the LR version also includes a Lo-Res P4 version as well. Lo-Res was not a freebie that I know of. I've checked DAZ frequently on a weekly basis for several years and it was never a freebie that I know of. It did include both the LR version of Mike and Stephanie for a limited time. Now I believe they have to be purchased separately. Oh, and just for clarification, I don't burn CD's of my DAZ files and sell them. I just have a slow internet connection and many times the line gets dropped forcing me to use up my measily three-limit downloads generally on a weekend. No offense to DAZ because I think their customer service is great and they have great products, but their site is a major headache.

Thanks for the info. I'm searching my hard drive backups now. If not, looks like Daz is going to make some more money off of me.
