Ooh Ahh....Very nice. :) Art is not determined by the time spent at the canvas. Some of the simpliest images have the most impact.

ICMgraphics ( ) posted Sun, 20 October 2002 at 2:25 AM

I agree Anruth. At first glance even the novice brycean realizes it was a quickie, yet the impact is instantaneous. It's "spooky,colorful & interesting". This would make an excellent seasonal backdrop for an advertisment. Nice job ASR

Your image reminds me of "bonfire night," which happens here in the UK on Nov 5th. For those who don't know: it's a celebration of the night, a couple of hundred years ago, Guy Fox tried to blow up the Houses of Parliment in London. He Failed. Nevertheless, we here in the UK, have been celibrating the event ever since. I never found out if the partying is because he didn't succeed, or to put anyone else off from trying, or because he tried in the first place. :) Catlin

Should also add that I like this image very much, the color is perfect for this time of year. A job well done, unlike Guy Fox.

very nice mingling of color and suggestion of movement. I like it.

CATLIN: His name was Guy (Guido) Fawkes......Bonfire Night is a demonstration of what would have happened if he'd succeeded. Personally I think he was one of the good guys (no pun)especially when you see what we've got today. The Bryster (Chris)

Bryster, I totally agree. Catlin

Fawkes Guy: 1570-1606 English conspiritor in the Gunpowder Plot. Fawkes, a Roman Catholic, took part in a plot to blow up King James I and the English Parliament on Nov 5th 1605, to avenge the persecution of Roman Catholics in England. He was found in a cellar with the gunpowder, was tortured, and disclosed his accomplices. He was hung, drawn and quartered in 1606. Guy Fawkes Night is widely celebrated each Nov 5th by burning effigies of Fawkes on bonfires. We also use a lot of fireworks. Incidently, despite the fact that parliament was saved, and that Fawkes was by today's definitions a 'Terrorist', the Government is activily discouraging the celebration of Bonfire Night and regularly makes moves to restrict the sale of fireworks on the grounds of safety.

That is atrocious, why do they always try to stop a good party. BTW Chris, is it still illegal to gather in groups of three or more ? :}

Rayraz ( ) posted Mon, 21 October 2002 at 9:40 AM

What is 'quartering' is it pulling a person in pieces by four horses? (wild quess... the thing I described is called 'vierendelen' in dutch. We don't do that anymore, but some centuries ago people wheren't that friendly.)
