Subject: Raining water

What would be the way to create a realistic looking rain on Bryce? I have a tutorial where you make falling snow with a big sphere and add a volumetric material to it. I guess you could do the same on water, but what kind of material would suit my needs? Mika

I recommend playing with Peter's material for snow in the deep texture editor. Get to know this area very well and start experimenting. I've been trying to get good rain for several weeks now and have found that using the wood grain in place of the blue dots material works out pretty well.

I use version 4. I saw the material preset in Bryce 3d too, but I didn't find a way to use it. Should it be placed on a big sphere or, or, or.... Every help is appreciated.

We have come to a point of no return I see.... We've gone this far and at least I can't quit before I got my scene soaking with rainwater... I try to take time tonight and try to come up with something.... It's odd that they put a rain preset and you can't really use it to make decent rain... I'll get back with you. Anyone can icq me too in this matter uin:23564951
