My friend Petteri. I'm really poor with portrait shots, but this came out pretty nice. Minimal postwork with too strong background. .n

I think you did very well here. It really says somthing. Good expression, good diagnals with the hair, nice all to gether feel, and nice framing, though you may want to consider croping a bit off of the dead zone on the left. -Gabe-

Nice one, Niko! :-) I love the dreds... (*

i dunno, the black has a really muted feel to it, dunnop if it agrees with me, don't think it does... freaky dude tho, and cool shot. What would happen if the entire background was burned out near completely? I'm just wondering if the dude himself can stand on his own or if the background adds to it...?

Yeah I would try loosing the background as Slynky says, The white bar above his head, really doesnt help. I might try removing the badge for me its an unnecessary distraction. Nice one Niko. :O)

I like it too, but I have to agree about the background.

I am, therefore I create.......

Yep, a crop (and I don't mean the dreads) would make this quite a striking portrait. Good one Niko. :-)>

I dunno - the "confusion" of the background of the original to me contributed to the "confusion" of the guy's dreads. the crop lost some of the "wild" I felt with the original. Just my 2 cents. Eithere way - great shot!

I tend to lean toward the original... but both are good anyways. :-) (*

I see you have lost the white bar and the badge I think this is the way to go, but I dont like the crop just to tight on the subject and I think you should not go so dark with the background. You are loosing the separation between the subject and his environment. I have had a go with the post hope you can see what I mean. :O)

...snapzie, I agree, better in this way. .n

mysnapz ( ) posted Mon, 28 October 2002 at 6:59 AM

You might like to try taking out all the background and adding somthing different. :O)
