As long as we still have money! LOL!

This club has already paid for itself...many MANY times already...Great job DAZ!!! Also, check out the new Flash homepage under Software Development...there's a grayed out Rendering/Animation on the list...hmmmm, hopefully some good news coming soon about this...

I taked to Reba yesterday and she said very, very soon indeed! She's not the type to blow sunshine...So I'd have to guess any time now!

asrai ( ) posted Wed, 23 October 2002 at 12:33 PM

WOW...a company that actually keeps it's customers informed...imagine that...

who3d ( ) posted Wed, 23 October 2002 at 1:14 PM

It'll never catch on

Dizzie ( ) posted Wed, 23 October 2002 at 1:17 PM

I would have thought they'd send out email notices when they add new items ....they'll miss out on a lot of sales by not sending out notices....

Jcleaver ( ) posted Wed, 23 October 2002 at 1:21 PM

Not necessarily. Just the opposite I suspect. This way, in order to see what new thing is being offered at 1.99, you'll have to got to their website and see what else they have. Sort of like how they arrange the grocery store. In order to get to the milk, you have to go to the back of the store passing numerous other items that may tempt you.

Dizzie ( ) posted Wed, 23 October 2002 at 1:27 PM

I don't have time nor do I remember to go to DAZ every week to hunt down what's new...in fact, just now is the first time I have remembered to go look since I bought the platinum package and I can't get into the website....isn't that lovely....LOL

Lapis ( ) posted Wed, 23 October 2002 at 1:28 PM

JCLEAVER your exactly right. Its a marketing tool with proven results. You have to go treasure hunting and as you do..."oh look what else I've found, it may not be $2 but it is 30% off..better grab it too". These guys are no dummies. They're definatly creating a buzz which is something a company does just before they announce something big..epic perhaps!

Dizzie ( ) posted Wed, 23 October 2002 at 1:34 PM

I won't be doing any "treasure" hunting if I don't go to the market at all....:>)

Lapis ( ) posted Wed, 23 October 2002 at 1:39 PM

I don't think it would hurt to have a weekly reminder from Daz. Its actually a good idea! You should suggest it to them.

Desdemmonna ( ) posted Wed, 23 October 2002 at 1:39 PM

They are breaking up many of the larger 'classics' into smaller packages...Jewels of the Deep Sea Mappacks is one that I noticed. I wonder if that is a decison on the part of the brokered product maker or DAZ themselves :)

Hiram ( ) posted Wed, 23 October 2002 at 1:47 PM

I don't know about you guys, but I get a reminder from DAZ every week. Aren't you on their mailing list?

Lapis ( ) posted Wed, 23 October 2002 at 1:55 PM

I will be now! I must be on CL's list because I just recieved a promotional email from them...something about tell a freind how great P5 is...

asrai ( ) posted Wed, 23 October 2002 at 2:13 PM

Same here Hiram and all, I get an email weekly from them with a synapses of what's new and what's news.

Hi there, First thanks for the nice words. People have long been requesting smaller downloads so they can get only what they want or need. There was some hostility over the "mega-packs". Also some overseas customers have been concerned about fownload times. Breaking up larger products is just a way to address this. Dizzie, Loud and clear. We're on it. Anton

Anton, I hope you have lots of products good to go with Vicki 3 and the new software. I also hope that all previous products will work in the new software. Thanks for listening! You always do!

SnowSultan ( ) posted Wed, 23 October 2002 at 4:42 PM

I'm on a dial-up connection, so I like the idea of the small packages too. Anything over 10 meg is a pain in the butt for me. :) A good example are the texture packages for the Sci-fi suit 2 for Mike. I have no real use for futuristic textures, but one of the smaller sets contains a pair of textures that look very medieval and appropriate for fantasy. I'll probably be buying that set a little later, and I'll be thankful that I don't have to download or pay for a lot of others I might not use. :) I have a lot of faith in DAZ and their future products, and I think any problems concerning them are minor compared to what many of us have gone through with Poser 5 and other marketplaces. Anton, your efforts and the work of everyone there are very much appreciated. SnowS Hoping his pictures are worth 1001 words. 1001 Words

I do not speak as a representative of DAZ, I speak only as a long-time member here. Be nice (and quit lying about DAZ) and I'll be nice too.

sparrowheart ( ) posted Wed, 23 October 2002 at 4:51 PM

I agree. Anton, you are ever helpful as well as ever talented. I too appreciate both you and the entire DAZ galaxy of talent. Kimberly

DAZ Rules!! CL Drools!!

sparrowheart ( ) posted Wed, 23 October 2002 at 7:44 PM

LOL Petunia!!!!!

Dizzie ( ) posted Wed, 23 October 2002 at 9:31 PM

Thanks Anton! I also agree the smaller packages are a great idea and splitting textures, for instance, into several packages for 1.99 a package rather than a larger package of 4, for 8.99 or whatever, is a great idea. I bought just the textures I wanted and since they were just $2 ea. I bought more stuff....so I ended up spending more than the 8.99 but I got more of what I wanted and DAZ got more of my money...we're both happy campers...LOL
