Kewlness! I'm wondering what those white specks are. Are those from the dust on your flatbed or from the negs? (I assume this is film.) It would look hella better if you cloned them out, it takes my attention away from the lovely grain. :-) Oh, and don't forget to post your entry in the contest page before the month ends! :-) Good luck! (*
Actually I think those are stars.....! Nice image....and yep don't forget to go to the contest page.....

Two reasons why I asked what those white spots are (and thought those were not stars): 1- some of the spots were overlapping the foliage silhouettes. (Or maybe they were coincidentally placed in the negative areas? My eyes are fooling me.) 2- on a brightly moonlit night, stars within a certain radius of the (full) moon are not that visible. But of course, it all depends on how this shot was done. Any details of this shot? :-) (*
Ok....well no looking more closely...is it dust...is it stars....reveal the secret.... :~)

Ok Kids...here's the deal...
You will see the stars through tiny teeny gaps in the folaige, that may not be obvious to you and on longer exposed shots because of small movements of said folaige in the breeze etc...after all the light they are shining has travelled light years across the galaxy to be ooohed and aaaaahhhhed at, so there not going to let a few leaves stop them! (O.K. I'm anthropomorphising starlight a bit here, but it's true) I have noticed similar effects on many nights out stargazing...and how do you tell planets from stars? They don't "twinkle" as much and travel mainly along the path of the ecliptic (the path the sun and moon travel)
P.S. Lovely photo James!
