Read Poser 5 Reference manual Appendix B page 354 and into this appendix "Poser 5 default file locations" page 357.

In only five pages you'll learn a lot about poser files.

Here's a link to the Poser Forum FAQ (available via the masthead above, also) - unfortunately the Poser File Types link appears to be dead, but there's a lot of good info there anyway, and also via the Tutorials link at the top of all the forum pages. Perhaps someone else can post a link to a Poser File Types and location diagram?

For what it is worth, here is a chart for P3/P4. Not necessarily complete, but better than nothing, no? cheers, dr geep ;=]

Remember ... "With Poser, all things are possible, and poseable!"

When the charts and tutorial aren't handy, look in the libraries and see what's already there. An Obj file that comes with a CR2 (character) must go in the Geometries directory in the sub file specified in the Readme file. If there is no CR2 in the download, then the obj file is likely a stand alone that can be imported in to Poser directly via the menu under "file"

I created the FAQ's here. So when they changed the servers around. That link went dead. I'm no longer a mod and I don't have access to the server anymore. But I still have a copy of everything. I'll pass it to the proper people and try to fix it. ScottA
