I'm not 100% sure, but I believe that the castle would fly the king's banner, and the liege's banner as well. The kings would be flown at the highest position, and the Liege banner would be below it. There might also be lesser banners if knights or other nobles were visiting or in residence. These would, I believe, be hung on the walls in the feasting room or on small poles in the courtyard.

No, the army would fly the liege's banner, or the king's, depending on who owned their fealty. But the army would be most likely to have the liege's banner as an insigina on their shields, and to fly his colors, and there would be at least one king's banner to acknowledge that the liege owed his fealty to the king. Unless of course they were fighting the king

Was it unheard of for a castle to sport to different banners? I have 2 really nice ones I like and want to use both but it seems a little odd to me. Thanks Tempest
