I whipped this up in rhino a while back and forgot about it till I was cleaning up my hard drive. Any comments, it all 3d, no textures. Davo

Hey thats cool! Did you make it from a font and then applied a bend command? It would make a wicked screen or setting element for fantasy picts

I did some asbract "closed" polylines in autocad, then imported the acad drawing into rhino, then selected the outer edge pline and extruded it, then selected the inner plines, extruded them as well, then did a boolean subtraction, then did a mesh from nurbs object, then used the "bend" command to add curvature. Whew!!!!!! did you understand all that? (knowing you, you did:-) I can send you the files if you want. Davo

Yep, understood it fully :) Excellent technique! If you have the rhino file I would love to take a look at it. :) nimbus@telenet.net Also we have a rhino forum here now, ya might want to stop in. -Trav

Cool! This would make an excellent back for a throne.

I was gonna use it for a throne backdrop, but alas, I never do get around to doing that sort of stuff. I had considered doing a really long rectangular one that is bent into a complete circle to use a wall decoration in a big space ship throne room. That would be cool. Davo

I love it too, very "rune-like". I wish I could use it for something. IS it going to be on the free stuff? I'd like to dissect it myself.

davo ( ) posted Tue, 04 April 2000 at 2:54 PM

Aye, I guess I could post it. I'll have to have someone host it for me. Any volunteers? If no, e-mail me at davids@esmcivil.com and I'll zip it to ye. Davo

davo ( ) posted Tue, 04 April 2000 at 4:36 PM

Sharkey It's not so bad or hard. If you will give me your e-mail address, I'll send you the poser and/or rhino file and you can host and post the poser version. (if you wish). Davo
