Subject: What's with the cookie overload?

I click on a link, two cookies. Click out of a link, two cookies. Click another link, read some, click out another two cookies. What the frell is going on? Why has the cookie life span for the forums been reduced to what? 15... 30 seconds? It's getting really annoying guys. :)

I'm getting it as well, and have reported it. The sessions are timing out prematurely.

OK, if you've reported it then fine. Thanks. I look forward the blasted things going away. :)

statse.webtrendslive.com/ Two cookies offered and rejected from this company at the front page and freestuff page - the one where you get to choose to enter freestuff? http://www.renderosity.com/freestuff.ez Sorry, but don't you think that people get enough spam in their mailboxes without introducing the risk of more as a result of things like this?

JeffH ( ) posted Tue, 29 October 2002 at 11:27 AM

As far as I know we don't have a connection to webtrends, but I'll ask and make sure.

Thanks Jeff, I got hit three times with two cookies from Webtrends. Haven't noticed it anywhere else on the site, just front page and the first freestuff page at the above addy.

I've been told we don't use webtrends. It might be coming from a thumbnail or a banner?

Questor ( ) posted Wed, 30 October 2002 at 11:01 AM

Possibly a banner, wouldn't be the first time. It's not a thumbnail as it's requested before getting to that part of the site. I've not seen it since lunch yesterday. If it occurs again I'll make a note of what and where and grab a screen shot too. Thanks
