Ordered my film scanner on Sunday and got it yesterday....I've been playing around with it....I love this thing! Here's a scan from it....Martha's Vineyard, morning sun, used Portra 160 VC, I really love this film, BTW. Used curves to adjust levels just a bit and little color balance.

My gosh, Michelle, this is truly sharp and beautiful, but...I've seen your photos before and, well, are you sure it's the scanner that's making them this great or just your superb talent? :>) Out of curiosity, what type of scanner...I am in the market for a new one myself, seems the old one, at times, produces "soft" at times, "sharp" at others...all on the same photo. :( Been thinking about the Epson 2400.

Congrats! Looks really great, the picture as well as the scan-job. Keep 'em up! Thomas

Thanks guys! I decided to go with the Canon Canoscan FS4000US....I wanted the Nikon 4000ED, but I could not justify the cost difference...the specs on both are pretty comparable....

Ahhhh, OK...I was thinking flatbed scanner...forgive me...I am still waking up...;>). My film scanner seems to do a pretty decent job, it's the flatbed that's so-so.

My flatbed is awful I was never able to get the transparency adaptor to work at all...and I get this awful magenta line right across the middle of my images...that is why I had to buy a film scanner.

I am, therefore I create.......

the way to photograher's heart is new equipment that improves to results. Tranquil scene though.
