Hmm... the color of the face doesn't quite match the color of the ears, scalp, or neck, but it is subtle. The problem with jpgs is that they will lose hue information first. I suspect that Anton is wearing a thin film mask, not one of the heavy rubbery ones. Nice job.

Lucy_Fur ( ) posted Thu, 31 October 2002 at 11:56 PM

Is it just me - or are your eyes different colors?

PheonixRising ( ) posted Fri, 01 November 2002 at 12:45 AM

I get red eye so my eyes do odd things in photos. What I did was buy a large bottle of theatrical liquid latex and mixed it with a dark foundation color. Then I took a cosmetic sponge and applied it to a section. Then I stuck torn pieces of tissue to the area and applied another lather over that. I put wax on my eyebrows so I could layer the latex and tissue over them When The whole face was done I used a dark plum eyeshadow and rubbed it into corners and mt eyesockets for shading. I couldn't put the latex in my hair so I subtley shaded my neck and head. It was cold outside so my ears were especially pink. :) So it is a thin latex mask but fully appart of my face so I could talk and make normal expressions.

Very cool makeup Anton.. I used to do that for my local charity Haunted House an extremely long time ago... Someone at that time had the notion of using that green TurtleWax car wax as makeup... what a mess to get off the next day!!! Needless to say, we (being young folk) all lined up for that experience!! :)

hauksdottir ( ) posted Fri, 01 November 2002 at 4:14 AM

So you built it in layers, but still managed to keep it thin? Nice job. The subtle work is hardest to pull off, especially face to face. The body language helps, too.

PheonixRising ( ) posted Fri, 01 November 2002 at 9:28 AM

yeah the latex is very thin in consistency. Mixed with the makeup up ot is no thicker than suntan lotion.

eeeep Coooool :) You guys should make that as a texture for Grim :) Although I think the lips need to be a tad darker I just had a brainwave - rather than painting the texture digitally and hoping it looks okay on Mike - just paint it directly on Dan Farr grin Instant preview! I'm sure he won't mind helping us artists out snicker Lyrra
