It's a kind of WIP, but with a high quality render -lol - Do you like the light/shadows (there are 8 spot light with high soft angles all around the board)? Tomorrow I will post for my gallery the same pic with some Robot hands (not so original I know, but it's fine with the pieces design). You can post any comment, I can try to take them in account for the final render ;=) Yves

This looks very solid and almost real, the shapes are smooth too, are you going to change the colours on the peices?

I love it:-). Especially the shape of the pieces. All together, with the spots, it looks very much like global lighting. I even would like to have it in my home, but for pure esthetical purposes, the chessboard should be white and brown (I mean the color of the brown (olive?) pieces:-) Thanks, you can send it then to my home (LOL). Looks very nice! It must've been ages since the last time I played chess. I'll call my dad for a game. Thanks for the cool idea! ;o)

Hey TheWingedOne, hope you and your father have not the hands of the picture I will post tomorrow ;=) Wait and See Mmmhhhh : Jilly, for the colors, I understand that you don't like them (especially the green I suppose). Yes, it's like me ;=) Maybe will change it to a more brown, but light brown, and try to have the same square colors. And yes Guitta, I will add it to your home, since I would like to do a less bright picture with my new calibrated monitor , but in a near future. In fact I was not really satisifed with the picture I submitted for renderosity cover, it's so difficult to have a perfect light with so many objects. It's so easy with a few ;=) Yves

Did you model the chessmen in Vue? They look real, IMHO, your board needs some grounding, shadows under thelip and reflection on the surface it's resting on, so it looks more realistic...great work Zhann

Thanks Zhann , I will try to modify the board, but another time (too late for my "Space Chess" picture which is in my gallery now). True that it's not perfect. The chess pieces are made with Amorphium, composition, textures, lighting in Vue ;=)

Ohh got it, looks realy nice, realy strange, but nice. Got to go looking for Amorphium the ;)
