When I merged my images to form a panoramic picture, the program I used made the sun dark-ish. I was wondering if anybody could tell me how I can brighten up just that part but not anything else. I would like it to be like the original below. -thanx

First I would have to look at the program you used. If it is using layers one thing you could do is "erase" that part of the overlap so that the original comes through brighter. If you are using Photoshop just add a lens flare and place it where the sun is. One thing you may have to do is increase your canvas size, place the flare then crop it back down so you get the effect but not the actual flare. That is most likely the easiest way but the layered erase is more likely truer to color and contrast. Great Image! Magick Michael aka zhounder

Depending on tools available. You can brighten the area or duplicate the picture to another layer and try various "add" or "if lighter" merges . Another would be to cut and paste the original section into the pan shot. Since the original has lens flare the use of a brightening tool would a place to start. Bill

This is the result of duplicating to get a top layer . then "add" at 25% and slightly brighten the center.

Hmmm, very nice BTW, that is a seriously cropped and resized image so that I could post it. The original is 11931x941 pixels. I used panorama factory to merge my 25 images. I have also used photostitch which does not create this darkening, but doesn't warp or blend the images so it can merge better. Thank you for the suggestions. I posted awhile ago the same kind of thing from a different trip to the same place. http://www.renderosity.com/ viewed.ez?galleryid=219369&Start=1&Artist=phopreulimm&ByArtist=Yes I may just try some stuff with that one too

Yes, it was a wonderful day. I probably had 'vivid colours' mode turned on at that point, I like bright colours. I've got my picture almost done, I succesfully overlapped the portion I wanted to fix with a brighter merge. Now I just have to make the seams dissapear and the colours match.... should be interesting. My digital camera has a mode that shows a bit of the last pic it took, which makes it easy to line up the next shot. Panorama factory - www.panoramafactory.com PhotoStitch came with my Canon A40 digital camera.
