Joeg Weber and I have a new joint product out called Glacier Girl. Joerg is a professional quality modeler and it really shows in this package. With the Glacier Girl set you'll be able to keep Vicki warm and well dressed in even the harshest of Poser winter environments. The set is very large and comprehensive and includes props such as snowshoes and wooden snow goggles loosely based on historical examples. This first pic shows the basic set as it appears when conformed to Vicki. ![artistdownload.ez?Who=Ajax&fileid=1888&k](http://www.renderosity.com/artistdownload.ez?Who=Ajax&fileid=1888&key=429022)

And this last pic shows the alternative "White Tiger" texture set. When you buy the Glacier Girl, you'll find the URL to download the extra texture set in a text file inside the zip.

they look pretty cool Ajax...on my wish list.

Just noticed it in the marketplace, Ajax. Great work, both of you. Is this the same outfit that lalverson used in a recent gallery render?

Thanks guys. It's more Joerg's work than mine. He did the meshes and textures and I did a fair bit of the Poser setup and packaging. Yes, LD, this would be the same one you saw in the lalverson pic. He and Daio did the beta testing for us. She has a very nice pic up of this gear too. Daio being Daio, it includes a matching leopard. The woman knows how to accessorise ;-)

Just wanted to ask if there are any plans for doing this item for Mike? (PLEASE)

capsces ( ) posted Sat, 26 October 2002 at 2:18 PM

This looks wonderful, Ajax. It's going on my wishlist too. :) Beth

Ajax ( ) posted Sat, 26 October 2002 at 3:48 PM

LOL, I knew somebody was going to ask that PilotHigh. We'll see how this one goes and if it sells resonably well maybe we can convince Joerg to do a Mike version. I'm not sure if he even owns Mike actually.

A Mike-Version... uhm... let's see... How about: Yes! But it will take some time. Modelling the items is not that much of a problem, but the UV-Mapping is quite complicated. There isn't enough clothing for Mike anyway. I just got to design something more maskuline for Mike. Skirt and this kind of Tunic wouldn't look good on him. Joerg

Great work you two! Into my wishllist it goes!

Thank you guys, that's great news. Some of us only use Mike and not Victoria at all. Aeriol

Joerg Weber ( ) posted Sun, 27 October 2002 at 10:59 AM

One question does arise: I started with Mikes Hood and Tunic. While doing so, I tried to keep the objects unchanged (no added geometry, same amount of vertices) - apart from the shape, which is changed to fit to Mikes physique. I have tried to keep it that way, so that I may add the same UV-coordinates to Mikes clothes as I did for Vickys clothes. This would allow some of Mikes clothes to use the same Templates as Vickies clothes. On the down-side, the templates of Mikes clothes would look like the clothes worn by Vicky. Which is more important to you: Multiple use of textures or templates that look more like the piece of clothing worn? Joerg

Daio ( ) posted Mon, 28 October 2002 at 9:38 AM

Oh yes, a Mike version would be great! Personally I don't care if the templates look like vicky clothing being able to share texture between the two would be a big plus. My other request would be a scarf or neck wrap of some sort for pictures where you want to show the characters hair/head. I sort of faked it in my pix by making the head and neck parts of the hood invisible but it is rather crude. What, Ajax, you mean I'm the only one who trys to cooridinate my characters animal companion with their outfit? I always thought that was a fashion must! ;-)

If Mike gets a suit too, I will most definately buy both his and Vick's.

Joerg Weber ( ) posted Fri, 01 November 2002 at 10:53 AM

I think there will be a package-deal if both are available... By the way: Has anyone tested this product on Stephanie? Joerg

Ajax ( ) posted Fri, 01 November 2002 at 3:53 PM

I haven't actually tested it, but everything for Victoria works for Steph so there shouldn't be a problem with conforming. The only problem will be that with Steph's full body morph set, some of the clothes will be a little loose around the waist and hip. The undergarments are the only ones where it would be noticeable. I could do a tailorised version for Steph, but the morphs would add to the package size, which is large already. We could put tailored cr2s in the free stuff or on a special support page.

Joerg Weber ( ) posted Fri, 01 November 2002 at 10:26 PM

If someone asks for it, we could put something into freestuff. But up to now, no one asked.

lhiannan ( ) posted Sat, 02 November 2002 at 6:46 AM

Of course! Something to fit Stephanie better than baggy clothing would be great. I would love to utilize Stephanie being Steph rather than just Vicky with a different head :) And if you want suggestions, make the suit (not the skimpy stuff) fit the kids too. My Millenium family balks at the sight of snow, they have nothing warm to wear and winters are cold in Ohio :)

Joerg Weber ( ) posted Sat, 02 November 2002 at 9:31 AM

Uhm... I haven't bought the Millenium Girls or Boys up to now. I have got to take a look if one of my friends owns the millenium girls. (The clothes for boys and girls probably would be very similar.) On the other hand, I am somewhat frustrated with the sales. The product isn't selling at all. Maybe 6 or 7 sales overall. OK, this is my first product in the marketplace, but judging from the pictures in the gallery I should probably create skimpy little pieces of clothing for fairies. On the other hand I am rather stubborn... Let's see, maybe the clothing for Michael will fare better. Joerg

Ajax ( ) posted Sat, 02 November 2002 at 4:06 PM

I have the millenium kids and it wouldn't be too hard to refit the outfit to the girls, or at least to the pre teen. The boys would need a less feminine design but their proportions are much closer to Victoria than Mike so refiting to them would be hard. In general, things for Victoria are supposed to sell a lot better than things for Mike (despite the fact that people are always asking for more outfits for Mike). I get the impression things for the kids hardly sell at all (maybe we'd get one or two sales in six months if we did a kid outfit). Six sales in the first two weeks isn't brilliant but it's not bad either. I'd say well over 50% of what's in the store doesn't sell nearly as well as that. Frankly, making Poser stuff is just not a way to make money. Most of the stuff I've made so far has been unusually labour intensive, but I think a product is doing well if I reach $1 an hour after a year of sales. On my software products I very much doubt that I'll ever see $0.25 an hour. Out of 670 vendors, I'm ranked in the top 80 in terms of gross dollars earned, so most people in the Renderosity store probably don't ever see $1 an hour on a product.

Well, you're sales are about to go up by one, and I'll keep my fingers crossed for Mike. This sort of outfit I've been searching and searching for, and for some time now. Thank you!

Joerg Weber ( ) posted Sun, 03 November 2002 at 9:10 PM

file_29004.jpg

OK, it's only a work-name. I won't call him that in the end. So, this is the Micheal-Outfit so far. I am somewhat torn between making both outfits look similar and creating new meshes. One one hand, I wnat the outfits to look similar - on the other hand, I would not want the outfits to be copied from the first design. It somehow feels like cheating to reuse all the old meshes...

I am open for any ideas, you would still like to see on frigid mike. Planned are: a broad-belt with and without an outer skirt, comparable to Vickies outer skirt, some skimpy underwear (fair is fair - Vicky had her skimpy stuff - Mike get's some too.) and the usual props.
So, if anyone has any hot ideas what Mike really needs, just tell me.

Have fun,
Joerg

PilotHigh ( ) posted Mon, 04 November 2002 at 12:03 PM

Just one comment that I have so far about the proposed overskirt for Mike. Will it morph open so he could ride a horse or dragon? I don't have the Vic package so don't know what morphs it comes with. Thanks.

Aeriol

Joerg Weber ( ) posted Mon, 04 November 2002 at 1:34 PM

Morph open? I don't think this is possible for a tunic like this, since this tunic is patterned after a footmans-chainmaille. Well, back to the drawing-board. I am doing a second tunic with the typical 11th century front-opening. This should be fit for riding anything.

PilotHigh ( ) posted Mon, 04 November 2002 at 1:55 PM

Joerg, I meant the overskirt not the tunic. The tunic doesn't need a morph because the sides are already 'open'.

Joerg Weber ( ) posted Mon, 04 November 2002 at 2:08 PM

Ah... lets see... Maybe I will make an outer-skirt just for riders, that covers the sides of the legs but is open in the middle... I think I can do that.

PilotHigh ( ) posted Mon, 04 November 2002 at 2:44 PM

Great, thanks.
