Subject: Poser to Vue question

Himico ( ) posted Sat, 02 November 2002 at 3:36 PM · edited Sun, 27 October 2024 at 9:03 PM

I am interested in Vue4, and just downloaded the Demo.
I would like to know how it is easy to use Poser scene in Vue4.
Can Vue4 Demo read poser scene? I tried to open a poser file, but I could not.
Could anyone explain how I can open, or import Poser file?
I know nothing about Vue, although I used Poser, and Bryce..

Thank you.

I think the demo cannot. The full version of Vue imports Poser 4 files as Pz3 with all mappings, transparencies and bums. Guitta

Yes !!! Vue4 demo can !!! There's only two fonctionalities disabled in demo : - save your scene - render a picture or a movie with a resolution above 640x480 Except that, you can do anything... Argentium Thri'ile

OK, now, if it is possible in the demo, you have to click OBJECTS->IMPORT OBJECTS from the menu and import your Pz3 file from Poser. The Demo does not show correctly all transparencies and maybe bums. Vue have been updated since.

The programs work quite well together. Most of the pics in my gallery are a combination of Poser and Vue. I use Poser props as well as the characters. I do tend to import one piece at a time, like first the prop, then character 1, then character 2. But works like a champ.

Thank you very much.
I tried it. A Poser figure was imported into Vue successfully.
I noticed minor problems. Probably, the update Vue4.1 solves the problems?

Before I make the decision, I would like to make sure the followings.

  1. The import of Pz3 files works without problems ?
  2. Vue program is reliable, and stable ?

I used Poser4, Bryce5, and other programs. I was happy with them.
However, I spent lot of my time, and gave up Poser5 for now.

I would especially like to know the reliability of Vue.

  1. YES 2. YES on PC. If you are a MAC user, somebody else may answer to you. Vue will be updated again soon:-) :-)Guitta

Well, I can't agree totally with Gebe on her answer number 2. Many Vue users, despite updating to most current update patch at Eon, still have some stability problems. Among other things, there are sometimes conflicts with graphics cards and drivers. I have Bryce 4/5, Poser 4, Terragen, Amapi, and about a dozen other graphics proggies on my big machine, and the only one that gives me problems is Vue. However, I am well aware that NO software is totally 100% stable and reliable, and although in a perfect world we would get perfect products, I have learned to live with the occasional problem I have with Vue. I just make certain I have the latest update, and keep an eye on this and other Vue forums for current info.

Thank you gebe, and Djeser. I donft expect perfect one. If it works reasonably well, it is fine for me. So far the demo has been going well. I am thinking to buy it after playing with the demo for a while. They donft sell the upgrade version here? Where do you think is the best place to buy it. I know nothing about Vue. Once I get it, I have to ask many silly questions here.

Best place to buy? Depends on where you live? You even can buy it directly here at Renderosity (see in our header). You wrote: "They donft sell the upgrade version here?" You cannot purchade the upgrade version for your demo. For questions we are always here and ready to answer:-) Guitta
