I have created an image and wanted to use it again in another document. When I added it to the I think it's called object presets in edit, it shows up fine as in fig 1. Yet when I bring up a new document, I cannot get the saved image (fig2) to show up even though I have the image previously saved highlighted. The ball shows up no matter what I do. I use Bryce3. Please help. TIA

I was told I could save an object for use later on.Say supposing I had 2 documents each with 2 different things and wanted to combine them. How else would I do it.

Rita, you have to do it up by the create button, press the oarange triangle by it. You cant save objects in the material presets, only in the object presets. That ought to do it gor you.

Tempest is right. There are 2 different places to 'save' things. One is the material palette where you can save the material. The other is the object palette and it is found the way Tempest says--click on the create button, the triangle beside it, etc. THEN--do the same thing as you did in the material palette. Go down to user, add and there it is. I often save my figures I bring in from Poser when I have them exactly the way I want them (materials). I can delete them afterwards, but this just assures I don't screw something up while I'm finishing my image. I have a slew of things in my object file, but have transferred a lot to CD just because of space. Now--you can do what you want--you can have a 'new' document and bring in an 'old' object G. You're getting the hang of this, aren't you?!? It just takes time--and there's always something new to learn in Bryce too--I'm STILL just learning the deep materials. Diane B

Of course tempest is right Tempest (the guy with the biggest ego in the world) :)

Thanks Tempest and Diane. Will try it. I tried copy and paste and the image distorted. Thanks again

Rita, not sure why you are copying and pasting. If you want more than one, the best way in Bryce is to 'duplicate' (use edit menu or do cntrl/D).

you can copy a object from one project to another simply by copy and paste. doesn't always work though for weird an unexplainable reasons Tempest
