Subject: Compare Preteen Vicki with Vicki (image), take a look

Jiia ( ) posted Mon, 04 November 2002 at 8:03 AM · edited Sun, 01 December 2024 at 11:00 PM

I was trying desperately to figure out a way to get some of victoria's clothing to fit her preteen version. I ended up with both of them in the scene, and started playing around with regular victoria. Check out these images. Tell me if you can tell which is which. http://www.geocities.com/jiiqs/CompareF.jpg http://www.geocities.com/jiiqs/CompareB.jpg I just thought it was a bit interesting. -Jiia

Images are perhaps too small but I'd say that Vicky is the one on the right (front picture) ?

Tashar59 ( ) posted Mon, 04 November 2002 at 9:07 AM

I would have to say vic is on the right. You can tell by the hip and the chest just under the armpit. The chest allways sticks out there on the PT. Tashar 59

I told it mostly by the shoulders. Then maybe we're both wrong :-b)

Jiia ( ) posted Mon, 04 November 2002 at 11:24 AM

You're both correct. I found quite a few dials on V2 that matched exactly. The "young" face, "small hips", ect. Scaled her body about 82%, shortened her shins, and few other things. I feel a little ripped off, now that I've almost recreated what I payed extra for, ha. Oh well, that happens. At least I know how to make the clothes fit her now.

Jila,Have you had any luck with resizing the Vicky clothes, and if so which ones? I,ve been trying to work with the catsuit, bikershorts, and bikini top&bottom, with poor results.I can get everything fitted and looking good in her default pose(with help from a "cupcake" morph I added to the chest),but try to pose her,and the clothes just don't bend in the same spots as she does.

I'll also be very interested if you can port V2 clothes to Mil Girls... and don't feel ripped off, because the Mil Girls face is much better than V2, IMO.

Terry Mitchell ( ) posted Mon, 04 November 2002 at 8:37 PM

I'm interested too. I would like to get Vick's catsuit to fit the MilGirls PT.

there was a Flute full body and head morph in freestuff a while ago which made vicki a young girl, so even the milgirl would have been redundant. And Flute came out before the milgirls too. I'm sorry to say I can't find Flute now.

Attn April YSH: I did a search for "flute" in Poser Freestuff and found "mwFlute" for vicky by mint... Is THAT the one you mean?

April,I have the Flute along with several other sets of morphs that are suppose to turn Vic into a teenager. They scale her down, and don't make her look so "beefy",which looks very good to me.But for the face of a young girl,I still think the MilGirls are hard to beat.Don't know much about it,but in the MP,Misty Blossom for the MilGirls,(by ByteMeOk)comes with a catsuit for the Girls.

Thanks for the info SWAMP, it's good to get the feedback from many sources when it comes to investing in poser figures (cos you have to get clothes and props and all that!) As for faces... just my opinion... for young girls the milgirls have a very distinct face that's reminiscent of downs syndrome that's hard to erase even on some of the best characters I've seen here (but note that I have not seen ALL the characters made for them, no offense to character makers!) That's one of the things why I don't like them too much... The preteen is nice, but I'd rather use Vicki as Jiia illustrated. I like DAZ a LOT but can't help but think the girls are quickie money spinners on their cash cow Vicki. Anyhow, I've held off this long, so I'm waiting on my Vicki3 !!! Whoah, huge news on her by Penguinisto at faeriewylde.com forums and poserpros.com forums.

I'm sorry to those who wanted to know the exact details of getting V2 clothes to fit preteen vic, but I haven't even had the chance to try yet. You may be right about the joints being off, too. AprilYSH is correct, though. Better off just using Vicky 2. V3 huh? I just hope her default shape is more natural this time. Freelance 3D artists don't usually have the time to add all of V2's morphs, and since the clothes fit her default shape, the end user gets stuck with the job of customizing in a modeler.

"The "young" face, "small hips", ect. Scaled her body about 82%, shortened her shins, and few other things." I've just started on a project that's gonna need a 14YO girl (amongst an awful lot more) and remembered this thread... I don't supposed you'd care to share the settings you used to produce such a close likeness (to preteen Vicky) without shelling out loadsa money?

Jiia ( ) posted Fri, 20 December 2002 at 2:27 PM

Who3d > I can send you a morph pose of her if you like. Just let me know how you need to get it.

Jiia ( ) posted Fri, 20 December 2002 at 2:35 PM

To all who were wanting to get vicky's clothing to fit the PT version of her: The problem is with the joint parameters. It's a very simple fix, though. Editing joints is extremely easy, once you know what all of the green and red circles and lines are. Check out the pdf manual in your poser directory. It tells you everything you need to know. You can either edit PT vicky joints to match victorias, or all of the joints for victoria's clothing that you want to fit PT (the more difficult). Not much help, I know.
