Subject: ISOP's new Idol Dress...

creativechaos ( ) posted Wed, 06 November 2002 at 5:51 PM · edited Sat, 28 December 2024 at 10:10 AM

Has anyone downloaded and played with ISOP's Idol Dress? I just got it and was playing around and I went to import the shoes, but nothing comes in. The obj and cr2 are there and the cr2 points to the obj file, but when it loads, there's no object there. Just wondering if anyone else was having this problem with the shoes.

Mine seems to load fine. Perhaps your download was corrupted. A lovely outfit, by the way. Did you get the raincoat and galoshes, also?

creativechaos ( ) posted Wed, 06 November 2002 at 6:40 PM

You better believe it LD...Aren't those just really cute outfits. I'm continually amazed by the quality of his freestuff. Ok, I'll try redownloading it, I just wanted to know if it was a problem in general or a possible corrupt file before I did anything else. :)

What's ISOP's current URL? The one I have takes me to a mirror site with the wedding dress and nothing else. Scarab

MRrobotto ( ) posted Wed, 06 November 2002 at 7:56 PM

The URL is http://iso.power.ne.jp/ I've had the same problem with the idol dress, and a couple of other freebies. In fact, I've noticed that any item that has the .cr2 and .obj in one folder together can cause it to either not appear or do odd things. The only solutions I came up with were to A: load the items in a specific order, or B: save the work before it plays up then reopen. I am running Poser 4.03, maybe it loads fine in PP. Perhaps if you played with the .cr2, but I'm not really clear on what's involved in doing so. Still, I can't complain because the quality of said items is high and they are free after all.

I haven't gotten around to moving it to my usual Posette Costume folder (which would get rid of the obj and cr2 being in the same folder) So that might be the issue. I'll have to try that soon and see if that's what it is. :)

Can someone furnish an additional page to the URL to get inside? Evidently he's switched to a Netscape-hostile program and the first page has nothing to click on that I can see.

jerr3d ( ) posted Wed, 06 November 2002 at 10:01 PM

It's the right url. click on "project" which takes you to a choice of "miyou/ vicky/ judy/" pick "miyou" and you are there. I agree. Iso has created some fantatic clothing items. Sure am glad he is kind enough to give them away! THANKS!!!

creativechaos ( ) posted Wed, 06 November 2002 at 10:18 PM

Mikes, you can't link to inside pages because the site is set up in frames and the main page is displayed with every page you visit (not the URL's of the atual sites) If you have IE, I'd try with that to get in, GREAT freebie stuff there...the guy is MASS tallented and great for just giving it away.

Mr Yamato's models are the perfect accompaniment to the free costumes at ISO. If you havent already, download Miyou and the pose to set the JP's back to standard P4. Also if it hasnt been mentioned before he has a new site at: http://www.juno.dti.ne.jp/~yamato-k/ Its in Japanese but if you wish to sign his guestbook he says gaijin are welcome to leave messages in english. When it goes fully operational downloads are promised, I'm hoping this means I will be able to get my hands on a copy of Tenten for Vicky, but we shall see.

I agree with MRrobotto. Yamato also makes some fabulous models. I just did a picture using 3 of his p4 models, Cancan, Ranran and my favorite Linlin.(see link) I did not know he made a model for Victoria, any links to Tenten?

Here is an image from his new site. So far she has not been available to the public, strictly among Japanese Poser webmasters or so it seems. I think perhaps he is waiting until he has finished the model to his satisfaction and then he will decide. I have seen versions using a variety of geometries, one of which was Vicky or LoRes Vicky a la BAT's Jyuri.

Wow Tenten is Really Very Cute! Thanks for the image link.

I'm very appriciative to ISO, Mr. Yamato, Miss Rubio, Lovely Lady and all the collaborators at the site. However I've also had some problems with one of the new items. It appears that some textures are missing from the 14th century French armor package ... a file called "metal" and another which my computer translates from Japanese to gibberish. Still, the armor does load, and is impressive. I'll work on replacement files tomorrow. I see a "Jeanne d'Arc" render in the works. :-) The kimono for Miyou loads and renders beautifully (as does Miyou herself.)

This doesn't fully show off the kimono, but you can see a bit of how nice it is. Model is Miyou, hair is "Bob Cut" by Studio Maya.

This thing with the OBJ and CR2 being together in the library folder is a ProPack "feature", I believe. I usually put the OBJs in the Geometries:iso folder, and edit the CR2 accordingly. It may be obsessive behaviour, but the model always works :-) I notice that ISO's stuff that used to be for the P4 woman is now in the Miyou section. Does anybody know whether this is for Miyou with the JP convertor applied, or has he re-done the clothing? I'll find out soon enough when I try to use it, just being lazy. :-D

mikes ( ) posted Thu, 07 November 2002 at 12:51 PM

I can't get beyond the front page because there are no visible buttons or links to click on, and moving the mouse around the page reveals nothing underneath. Adding "project" to the url just gives an error. I have no intention of switching to IE. This is probably that *&%^#!@ Microsoft-only Java at work again...

xoconostle ( ) posted Thu, 07 November 2002 at 4:48 PM

E-Bob, I haven't tried any of the now-Miyou items on Posette, although both the armor and the kimono apply perfectly to Miyou without use of JP converter. Mikes, I'm not sure what the navigation issue is here, but "project" appears as a link button at the top of the page. I don't believe you should have to add it to the URL. If I recall correctly, last time I visited, the site defaulted to a page with the character catagories in a column at the left side of the page. If that's how it appears to you, forget about "project" and try clicking on "Vicky" or one of the other links instead. Good luck!

mikes ( ) posted Thu, 07 November 2002 at 8:18 PM

Lemme go over this again. In Netscape 4.7 on my Mac the left side of the page has nothing on it except the background. There is nothing to click on to go past the front page. Thanks for your suggestions, but there ain't nothing there. nada zilch I used to be able to see something, but ISO has evidently changed the code. Anyone else having this problem, or am I going blind?

jerr3d ( ) posted Thu, 07 November 2002 at 9:15 PM

I'm on a Mac, using Netscape Comm 7.7 I can see the links. IE 5.0 works too
