Anyone know of a good source for free BVH files on the Internet? Thanks, Matt P.S. Anyone going to the 3D Animation Conference in Santa Clara this May? Is that conference the best of its kind for 3D animators or are there better ones?

Try House of Moves. (www.moves.com) They have a pack that has some neat ones. Like a walking, running, kungfu, dancing, etc. nice stuff. They did the motion cap for Titanic, so they work nicely, but sometimes the figures "slide" when they shouldn't. Check it out. (if you want to see an example, I'll try to post one soon at students.washington.edu/hoborg/kungfu.avi)

There are a couple of BVH files at Poser World, under BVH. URL: www.poserworld.com I haven't tried them out so I can't say how good they are. There are also some in the content disc that came with Poser 4. -Jim

where do you put a BVH file?

arabinowitz ( ) posted Fri, 07 April 2000 at 5:43 PM

You put them wherever you want. Just remember where you put them. Go to file --> import--> BVH and select your file. Most files work on the Z axis I believe. Anyone know why my computer keeps freezing up with BVH files more than 200K. I have a P2 400Mhz 128 RAM, and the sucker still freezes up with the normal size BVH's.
