Come on, it's fairy wings! It's not like you can download something like that in FreeStuff.

EricofSD ( ) posted Sun, 10 November 2002 at 12:46 AM

I think the pink pony needs faery wings.

MadYuri ( ) posted Sun, 10 November 2002 at 4:16 AM

Fairy wings? brrrr I won't buy them, be they $20 or $1.99. ;P

You can almost smell the love in here it's so thick

No wonder so many people are leaving here...ya'll seem to take pride in treating people badly...right now I'm embarrased to be a member here with posts like this.....how would you feel if it were your wings you had just put in the Marketlace.....oh, I'm sure you wouldn't mind being publicly berated....

MadYuri ( ) posted Sun, 10 November 2002 at 5:59 AM

Well, I'm not thrilled about fairy wings. ;P

Sometimes I just wish that vendors would do more original stuff and not same old, same old. Take for example Dacorts Copperhead, I did buy it because it is something which is not already avaliable dozens of times in the MP or freestuff.
Quality is not enough, we have lots and lots of that at different places, even many freestuff items are really excellent. As a vendor you need a vision and the will to try something different if you want to get some sales.

You seem to be confusing the person with the product. Did I say the vendor was an idiot? Nope. Did I even say the product was crap? Nope, didn't say that either. Instead, I implied that the product was: 1.appearing in the midst of a significant fairy wing glut, and 2.overpriced in the current market. Both of which are demonstrably true, both of which are perfectly reasonable observations, which I, as a MP customer, am entirely entitled to make.

lelionx ( ) posted Sun, 10 November 2002 at 8:43 AM

come on Mosca! it's only over priced about 2000%,that's not that bad !?!?!?

Mosca ( ) posted Sun, 10 November 2002 at 8:51 AM

Well--that's compared to the $1.99 P Club wings. Says nothing about Thorne's excellent FREE universal wings in the DAZ free section.

ElectricAardvark ( ) posted Sun, 10 November 2002 at 12:15 PM

MadYuri: The problem with "original" products?...They only sell to select peoples. I am pretty much a niche vendor, and I have a pretty good customer base. I can always count on the same people to purchase my new items. But it is hard to make the customer base larger. However I continue selling these type of items, cause I like making them :)

Mosca ( ) posted Sun, 10 November 2002 at 12:35 PM

Retail is all about leaders and followers. Somebody has to sell the first temple/helmet/sword, paving the way for a bunch of imitators--some of which will be better and/or cheaper than the originals. Unfortunately, the inventors don't always reap the biggest reward--the clever marketers do. Look at Bill Gates. My tendency is to look for/buy/support the unusual, but a lot of that's about wanting to produce work that doesn't look like everyone else's.

Well even without the platinum discount the daz one is still low-priced ($14.95). The new one in the MP is a nice one, but there are already so many others, some for less and some for free that he may have a hard time selling it with all that competition

ElectricAardvark > ...They only sell to select peoples. ...But it is hard to make the customer base larger.

Yep, I know. I don't think this will change at any time. More and more people try to sell stuff, some of it is of really good quality too. But the customer base isn't growing at the same rate. And some of the former customers become maker too.
But I think truly original stuff has a longer shelf life. If you make some pants for Vicky you sell some and then they get buried into oblivion. But years from now you still will find a buyer for your creatures.

ElectricAardvark > However I continue selling these type of items, cause I like making them :)

Double yep, this is the only way. You can't get rich fast, but you can have at least some fun. :D
