Subject: Anyone here experimented with cloth dynamics and shirts with collars?

I've tried converting collared shirts into obj. files and then into props but Poser 5 just doesn't like working with them. None of the dynamic clothes that come with P5 have collars but there's got to be a way. Has anyone tried this?

What problems are you having?

I've tried to clothify the y-shirt found in free stuff as well as vicky's polo shirt but the dynamics just seem to involve too many calculations for my maching to handle. I'm going to try dividing the collar and surrounding area into a separate group from the rest of the shirt and calculate the dynamics in the groups separately next.

Farang do you have hair in the sceen ? and many other props ? for a low mem or slower comp try this. set up your animation leav out all the props and clothing exsept for the one being clotifyed this includes the hair room hair. this way tour comp has less to keep track of. after the cloth sim is finished and your happy with it add the rest. hope this helps Laters Vel

The dynamics do seem to get stuck in a loop when trying to use conforming clothing that has been converted to dynamic.

It may be the unwelded groups. Try taking the clothing prop into UVmapper and weld it.

heyas; wait, you mean a collar with lapels? that are like, folded over? it's probably the polygons facing each other inside the fold that's making it nuts. did you put the collar bits into a constrained or choreographed group? try putting it in a choreographed group, that supposedly might exclude it from the draping calculations.
