I would just give a link to this, but I knwo some of you are TRULY lazy....;o) Renderosity will be changing their Tutorial section, we Mod's have been playing with it, and it's pretty damned cool. Will TOTALLY do away with dead tutorial links. Anyway here is the message from the Front page: ---------- New Tutorials - Coming Next Week Renderosity is pleased to announce exciting enhancements to an old friend. Tutorials have been an important part of this site since it started and are key to helping members learn the latest tricks, tips, and techniques. Read on to learn how Renderosity is working to make tutorials better. Members have told us of several issues with our current tutorial database. This database contains a list of off-site tutorials. The biggest issue for members is dead links. Let's face it. This happens as contributors move or close their websites. Another concern of tutorial authors is that bandwidth charges for hosting the tutorials can be a real burden. Lastly, the quality of tutorials submitted to our database was not managed in the past. Next week, we will launch a revamped version of Tutorials that addresses all these issues and adds many new bells and whistles. This service will be free to contributing authors and to the members who use the tutorials. Contributing authors can expect built-in promotion of their artist pages, store front, and Sponsor link (Gallery style). Basically Renderosity will be hosting tutorials. So, if you have one, I.M. me. We're sorta in beta-testing. I'm gonna be away from my main PC for a week or so, so I'm gonna work on getting a few together to upload, but it'll be a little slower going. AgentSmith

Sounds cool... No more dead links! This is great! And a plan to institute some degree of quality control (which makes me wonder what the subjective criteria are.) I suppose it would involve making sure techniques are of use and explained in a way easily duplicated by others.

Yeah, there is a lot of quality control. The tutorial won't appear until it has been approved. The new tutorial area will be brought out in 4 days, right now we're just testing the ease of use for the uploaders and q.c., etc. It seems to work pretty well. (famous last words, lol) AgentSmith
